**Edit:** We hired Eden Advanced Pest Technologies to address birds getting into our attic through ventilation openings. After calling multiple companies in the Tri-Cities area that do not handle bird removal, we found Eden based out of Spokane. They charged $500 for the initial service to “patch the holes.”What was not made clear during the sales process was that they were only patching one side of my two-story home. I have approximately 5–6 sets of ventilation openings per side, with three holes per set. They patched only two sets on the affected side. Essentially, I paid $500 for them to patch four exterior holes leading into the attic. When I brought this up, I was told the other holes did not need additional mesh because birds had not used them and the original interior mesh was still in place. If I paid to have one side addressed, then the entire side should have been secured — not just the holes the birds were actively attempting to use. No one explained that this would not cover the whole house or that birds could simply relocate to the opposite side.Shortly after the work was completed, that is exactly what happened. The birds moved from one side of the house to the other. When I contacted Eden, I was told I had only paid for one side. That was the first time I heard that limitation. When I spoke to David, I reminded him that he told me he would “do my house,” not just one side. His response was, and I quote, “If we did your whole house it would have been a lot more,” followed by a nervous chuckle. That statement while very infuriating, directly contradicted how the service had originally been presented. The service manager, Matt, acknowledged there had been miscommunication and even stated that David needed additional training so issues like this would not happen again. He asked me directly if I would have agreed to the service initially had I been quoted for the entire house. I told him yes, I would have.At that point, Matt offered to complete the rest of the house for an additional $500, discounted to $300 due to the ongoing mess — bringing the total to $800. He also stated he would personally come out in two weeks to complete the work himself, since there was a company wide trip and that would be the earliest someone could come out. During those two weeks, he said that if the birds managed to get into the attic, he would remove them free of charge and absorb the cost.I told him I would move forward if all of that was put in writing. He agreed and said he would have an email sent after our call. When the revised agreement arrived, it again only referenced patching the newly affected side — not the entire house as discussed. I emailed back requesting that it be corrected to reflect what was verbally agreed upon. I received no response. Two days later, with no clarification and birds already close to re-entering, I decided not to move forward. This was still about two weeks out from the proposed service date, which we never signed off on. At no point from the beginning was I advised that the entire house should be addressed to prevent this exact issue. Two weeks after Matt did his diligence and followed up to see when he could schedule a time to come out. I explained to him that no one reach back out to update the email agreement and that ultimately, I fixed the problem myself using wire mesh and steel wool. The service was no longer required, he apologized immensely for the poor experience - which was not on him. While Matt appeared to genuinely try to help, the overall experience was frustrating. There was inconsistent communication, verbal promises that did not match written agreements, and significant delays. I was also repeatedly reminded that they commute two hours from Spokane, which raises concerns about taking on jobs outside their practical service area.If a company cannot clearly communicate the scope of work and ensure written agreements reflect verbal commitments — especially on a $500+ service — that is a problem. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience.
I haven't had any work done yet. All Josh did was check out my situation and give me a quote. I will give a review once the work is done. Josh was very polite and helpful though.
We chose Eden after having a few companies come out for quotes. Eden's staff consistently has gone above and beyond to provide exceptional service and has been the most thorough of all places by a landslide. Highly recommend giving them a call and asking for Troy or Josh!
Very friendly and personable member of Eden Pest Control’s team. Great company with great service. It all depends on their staff - Ryen did a great and efficient job.
David came out to help with my HUGE mouse problem and spent a lot of time looking for entry points and blocking them, setting traps, and explaining everything in detail. This was on a Saturday on his day off, but the company knew how bad it was after coming out the day before to evaluate the situation and he agreed to help. I was really surprised at how long he spent here and the meticulous way he examined every nook and cranny. The cost was very reasonable too. I will need a full crawl space clean out once the pests are gone and it won’t be cheap, but after today’s service I have no doubt they will do an extremely thorough job. I’m now signed up for their very affordable quarterly pest services. I wish I had done that when I bought 4 years ago and could have avoided the crawl space clean out!
