Detailed Pest Control is by far the best in town. From homes and businesses to small condos, they are always my go-to.I personally have them spray my home consistently and have been a dedicated client for many years. I have referred them to local companies and recommended them to my clients whenever pest control services are needed. One client called me in distress after using another company that not only failed to fix the problem, but made it worse. I immediately called Detailed Pest Control and asked if they could do an emergency visit to help put my client at ease. Their office answered right away, listened to my concerns, and within 24 hours they were at my client’s home and fixed the problem immediately.Every time I call with a question or need advice, they are happy to assist. And if something is outside their scope of work, they always provide trusted contacts who can help. This is the company you want supporting you, whether you are a business owner or a family at home. They truly go above and beyond and make sure you are taken care of.
I just wanted to thank Detailed Pest so much for always saving us!! Michael is like Voldemort and always gets rid of all of the evil pests!!!! I don’t know what they do, but they are my hero!!!! There is no way that I could survive living in California with all the spiders, millipedes, ants, and Lord knows what else without them!!!! anytime I start to have a problem, I just let them know and they are quick to send out the big guns and battle whatever pests are causing problems! I can’t imagine what my house and yard would be like without them…. Omg. Don’t leave me ! Ha! Thank you so much!!!!
Last Friday was day number 5 that a rat (or perhaps a bird I realized later when I had calmed down) was stuck in my stove vent. I heard it fall, and was horrified that it would get out into my apartment. But with each passing day, waiting for the property manager to arrange for pest control, as the sounds of its struggling diminished, I was sad. I didn't want it to die, even if it was a rat. When the PM emailed me the name of the company, saying they would be in touch, I went ahead and reached out to them. They responded on the same day, for which I was grateful, but still anxious that extermination was going to be their first response. And then the most extraordinary young man showed up at my door the next day, at about 12:30, and from then commenced the most extraordinary live rescue that I have ever had the honor to witness. It involved waiting for a reply text from the maintenance man telling us where the key to the roof was, and when it wasn't there, getting it from another tenant who thank goodness was home. It involved a large net, as Michael had tried capturing it from the roof, but I'm on the bottom level, and the critter was out of reach. Are you ready? Michael said to me, as he unscrewed the plate that supported the aluminum vent sleeve where the creature was lurking. I was holding the net over the opening. It had not chewed through the sleeve, but we could see the bulge where it sat. It's not a rat, he said, as he worked. How do you know? Because a rat would be able to shimmy back up. Knowing this was a game-changer, even before he shined his flashlight into the vent and saw who sat there. I felt brave, ready to face whatever it was.I can't believe it, he said. What? Is it a bird? It's a squirrel, here, come and look. Is it alive? I can see it breathing. So I peeked in and saw its tail. An amazing sight, considering that it hadn't had food or water for five days. And then there was the sight of Michael now holding the net up, waiting for the squirrel to come out. I had put walnuts in the net, forgetting that mammals cease to smell when they are stressed. It's fight or flight, and though Michael had opened the front door, just a few unobstructed yards from the kitchen, we didn't know if it would scurry under my sofa, or bite the hand trying to free it.This could take half an hour, Michael said, as we listened to the squirrel's stress chatter. I had tapped on the vent, but it wouldn't budge. Then I had a thought to back up, out of range, and let Michael do his job. Which he did, and the critter fell into the net. It jumped up onto the rim before Michael could close it. He rushed to the door, where the squirrel jumped off. Michael turned to see if I was still breathing. It's OK, he said, it's gone. How do you know? I saw it run down the stairs, and I heard it run across the pavement. Tell your mother she did an extraordinary job raising you, I said, by way of thanking him.I have no idea what the price for the service was, since I'm not the property owner, but I imagine that it was reasonable. In addition to the live rescue, Michael explained where the squirrel got into the vent, and took photos of the vent hat that needed to be replaced or screened. In addition, the neighbor's tree branches on the roof needed to be cut back three feet, or as far as possible. He provided photos of that, too, for me to send to the maintenance man. There is no sign of rat activity, he said, but this will help prevent it in the future. All in all, it was a day that rescued a life, and gave me peace of mind.
