BEWARE!!! STAY AWAY!!! If I could give a negative number, I definitely would. In 2023, I contracted with Lance from A Personal Touch Pool Service to fix loose coping, fix loose tiles, re-caulk perimeter of the pool, and paint the pool. Contract was for $9000. Half due on 5/1/23 when he started the job, which was paid and I have the cancelled check. He was supposed to be finished by finished by 6/1/23 but never finished until 6/28/23. Balance was paid by check on 6/28/23 and I have the cancelled check. Paid in full.He complains that he never has any help. Problem is, he talks alot and the job just continues on forever. There were times where he did not show up for days on end. Overall, I had no problem with the pool repairs he made other than the fact that he exceeded his end date by almost a month. Here we are in 2026. Three years later. I have never talked to Lance since 6/28/2023. When we went to open the pool this year, we found one of our pipes had cracked. I called Lance on a Saturday, he told me he would be call me on Monday and let me know if he would be out on either Monday or Tuesday. He never called Monday and never showed up. On Tuesday, I texted him and asked if he would be out on today, Tuesday. Lance called me and told me that he would not be out because I stiffed him $2500.I have 2 paid cancelled checks that total $9000, the cost of the contract. I paid him in full. How dare he accuse me of stiffing him money. Plus, if I really stiffed if, why would I call him for assistance with a cracked pipe???I would not recommend using his service. He does not complete the contract on time, he complains about everyone and talks too much, and he falsely accuses people of stiffing them. He also said that there are many people who have stiffed him and have a black X next to their names. I told him to get a better bookkeeper and he responded that his wife is his bookkeeper.I would not recommend doing business with dishonest people - both in service and bookkeeping - that falsely accuse people 3 years later! There are a lot of honest people out there that can help with your project/service. Call your local pool company (ie, Leslie's Pool) and they can make a great recommendation.
As another said, less than 1 star. Their work looked good, completed summer 2024, until we reopened this past summer and saw chipped coping along with crumbling mortar between the deck and coping. This was not a low-cost project and Lance said he would make repairs and we were OK with that. The summer came and went, and I ended up repairing his shoddy work prior to closing in September. There are better options for your pool repair service, so do yourself a favor and use anyone else. Oh, and the best is he wanted me to put a claim in my homeowners ins. so we could pay him to repair his shoddy work. Can't make this stuff up folks, just move on from this one.
I am completely satisfied with the work that Lance did for me. His price quote was fair. He returned to my house with the new liner I needed exactly when he said he would. He did an absolutely perfect job of replacing the liner in my 24 foot above ground pool. He was such a nice guy and a true professional in his field. I liked doing business with hometown people whenever possible. I certainly am glad that I called A Personal Touch Pool Service and got to meet and work with Lance. I wish I could give him more than five stars. Thank you Lance.
Brand new homeowners and first time pool owners here. let’s just say it has been an experience… We were aware of some of the concrete cracking and plaster liner issues when we bought the house, but we weren’t aware of how severe it really was until we lifted the cover and moved in. It was just a hectic time for us and should’ve paid more attention really. The pool needed a complete makeover, and we knew it would hurt the pockets, especially after relocating to a new home, but we called a personal touch pool service. Lance came out, inspected the site, gave us a quote, got the job done surprising quickly and provided us with much needed help fixing our pool plaster and caulking. It was in complete shambles. We felt we were in good hands throughout the whole process. Lance really made sure we knew exactly what was going on. I can confidently say he stands by his work with the attention to detail he showed. Everything was done to perfection and completed in a timely manner. No issues since!
We cannot say enough wonderful things about Lance and A Personal Touch. We had a leak in our pool spa, which he diagnosed on a Saturday in the rain. He returned when he said he would (two weeks later) and did an expert job fixing the leak, replacing the tile and resurfacing the spa. The spa was beautiful, sparkling and brand new, which made the entire pool look better. In addition, Lance and his helper cleaned up completely and left the entire pool looking better than new.He also returned a couple of days later to make sure everything was perfect and the leak was fixed. We were so happy with Lance, his helper and the work they did to complete our project. We recommend him completely and without reservation.
