Very bad customer service. I did my lifeguard certification but I have to go another day that’s what the instructor told me. He told me just go another day for the swimming test and the written and then HR from High Sierra told me another thing. They told me to do everything from the beginning again.I lost $150. I prefer to return back to Sunset pools management inc
Great company! Mr. Radek was very professional and easy to work with. His team at High Sierra Pools is well-trained, organized, and focused on safety. Highly recommended for pool management and lifeguard training.
Do.Not.Use.Hi.Sierra. Their services are not only incompetent, but DANGEROUS. We visited the pool in our apartment building the other day to find it padlocked, with people trapped inside. It was Juneteenth, and the white lifeguard had locked black and brown people inside a pool. My friends and I immediately asked the lifeguard what was going on. The lifeguard, a sweet 20-year-old kid who did not speak English as a first language, told us that he was just following orders from his supervisor. We responded that it was illegal to lock people inside a public enclosure without an escape route. He called his white, Eastern European supervisor, who was incredibly defensive and aggressive with us when we pointed out the issue. The supervisor claimed that the pool was over capacity of 25 bathers and that people had “violently” rushed into the pool area in the past, even though all the building residents wanting to use the pool were quietly and patiently waiting outside the gate. We explained that the law prohibits locking people inside, and he defended himself saying that there was an emergency exit at the back of the pool. The emergency exit was locked. It took the supervisor 5 minutes to unlock the exit. During that time, a person having a heart attack or a stroke may have died while emergency services were denied access to the pool area. What’s more, building residents who had lived in the building for 15 years didn’t know where the emergency exit was located, as there was no sign. They had never faced this issue before because while the sign stated that only 25 people were allowed in the pool, the pool deck had 50 chairs. We told the supervisor that we were going to contact non-emergency services to get him to remove the padlock. Only then did he unlock it (picture shown) and “magically” found a sign saying that the pool was overcapacity and residents would have to wait for people to exit before they used it. The supervisor angrily told us that the lock had come down “for today,” implying that he would lock people inside the pool area again. Building fees are steep and I’d like to enjoy the amenities, but now I’m afraid that I’m going to be locked inside and be unable to leave if and when an emergency occurs. In response to Hi Sierra’s inaccurate reply:1) The emergency exit was not accessible. It took the on-site supervisor over five minutes (we timed it) to unlock the door while fumbling with keys—clearly demonstrating it was not readily available in the event of an emergency.2) We spoke with several other residents, none of whom knew where the emergency exit was located—raising serious concerns about safety communication.3) Contrary to their claims of respectful conduct, the supervisor was defensive and aggressive, as stated in my original review. He refused to remove the padlock until…4) We contacted the police—not Hi Sierra.Additionally, Hi Sierra has previously allowed more than 25 people on the pool deck, with the 25-person limit applying only to those in the pool. If a new policy was implemented limiting both pool and deck occupancy to 25 people total, it was never clearly communicated to residents ahead of time. Using a padlock to enforce such a policy—without warning or signage—is neither clear nor respectful communication.Hi Sierra is entitled to its version of events, but multiple witnesses can attest to the unsafe and unprofessional conduct we experienced.
High Sierra Pools has very professional staff. The area supervisor, Kirk McLean, is awesome and always takes care of any issues there are with the pool or lifeguards at The Beacon Clarendon. He is quick to respond and take action. I would recommend him and this company to anyone needing excellent pool service.
High Sierra was fantastic this year! Ivan was wonderful to work with. The pool was always clean. My guards were on time every day and very self-sufficient. I did not receive any negative feedback from my residents. The overall experience was great, and I would highly recommend working with High Sierra! I know we will be.
