Excellent service! Brian in service was very informative. The service technician took his time to explain all the potential situations and charges that could develop before starting the work. His initial diagnosis was correct that the heater element need replaced . He had it in stock on the truck , installed it and my hot tub is rising in temperature as I text this . Excellent service. I highly recommended.
I am writing to share feedback regarding a recent service call with Sunshine Spa & Pool. I contacted your team for assistance with my Pentair Kreepy Krauly Legend automatic pool cleaner, which was not operating correctly despite the pump functioning normally. I appreciated your availability, as it has been challenging to find local service for this specific model.Your technician arrived within a week and assessed the equipment. He identified a leak in the back-up valve and recommended its replacement. Following his advice, we purchased and installed the new part; however, the cleaner remained non-functional.I subsequently contacted your office to report that the initial diagnosis did not resolve the issue. During this call, I inquired whether a second service fee of $200 would apply for a follow-up visit. Given the circumstances, I expressed concern regarding the cost of multiple service calls without a guaranteed resolution. The representative I spoke with indicated they would consult with the technician and provide a follow-up, but I did not receive a response. After waiting a week, I followed up and spoke with a manager. He noted that the information provided regarding the service fee policy was incorrect and did not align with company procedure.Unfortunately, due to the lack of resolution and clear communication, I have since purchased a replacement device from another company.
I was looking for a new pool service closer to home. I had high hopes for this service, but saying I was disappointed would be a huge understatement. I had a yellow algae growth on the walls and floor of my pool. I paid $349.52 in chemicals, etc., in a total of four trips to the store. Not only did the algae not go away, it actually got worse. I am not sure anyone there knows what they are doing. To make matters worse, I scheduled an appointment with them at 4:00 PM on my next to last visit to the store. Not only did the guy not show up (even though I got an email that very morning confirming the time of the appointment), but I never even received a call saying that he was hung up, etc. And this was after I called them that very afternoon (around 5:00 pm) inquiring where their guy was. I was told that the office would check with him and get back to me. They too never called me back. If you care about your money and your time, this is not the place to go.I followed up with a visit to Sweetwater Pools in Catonsville presenting the same problem. The expertise and the help I received there was 180 degrees different. My pool is now starting to get back to normal again, and Connie was terrific. There has to be a reason why every time I go into Sunshine, there never seems to be any other customers present. I will be one more former customer. I have better things to do with my time and money. It is too bad because I really wanted to support a local family business. NOT THIS ONE ANYMORE!Jim F.
Simple spa heater replacement took three visits over four weeks and $700 of labor. I mentioned the breaker kept tripping after receiving too hot error code episodes days prior, so even I knew the heater needed replacing. Instead they insisted I first hire an electrician to rule out an issue with the breaker. $211 and one week wasted. Then instead of coming with a heater they sent someone on a visit to diagnose. 10 day wait, 20 minute diagnostic visit cost $270 that was not applied toward the later replacement. So $481 dollars and 2 1/2 weeks to get to where I knew we’d be. Another 10 days and another $230 labor to replace the heat we. The cherry on top was the technician left without turning the breaker on, so when I went to get in the spa it was cold. He also left trash from the heater container on my patio and didn’t return items he moved. He also left a glove in the driveway. I complained about the entire episode and all I received was a $100 credit and no clear explanation about why the actual labor cost less than the 20 minute diagnostic visit. I explained that I worked with the prior owner for years, he would have been at my home within two days of my first call with a new heater, avoiding $481 I wasted and four weeks. I shall take my subsequent business elsewhere.
