They’ve also stepped in when our contractor accidentally cut our internet, getting our equipment back online and up and running quickly. They’re always responsive, quick to answer questions, and consistently put the customer first. We couldn’t be happier and highly recommend them!

We recently used Brakefield's Pool Service after purchasing a new home. They cleaned the filters on a Monday, and we closed on the house that Thursday. When we arrived for our final walkthrough, we were shocked to find the pool dark green and filled with algae.
We called Jay to understand what the pool looked like earlier in the week, and he said it looked fine. We asked if he could help address the issue, but he wasn’t available until the following week. He suggested that the pool could likely be fixed with about $40 in chemicals.
When he did come out the next Wednesday, we were disappointed not only by the lack of urgency but also by his dismissive and condescending attitude. He recommended a pool care book he referred to as “pools for dummies,” which we felt was unprofessional and unhelpful given the situation.
Since then, we’ve spent thousands of dollars addressing the algae issue and making necessary equipment repairs. We hoped for more support and guidance during a stressful transition into our new home, but unfortunately, our experience with Brakefield’s left a lot to be desired.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I’d like to clarify a few key points to ensure an accurate understanding of our experience.
The visit to our property did not last two hours. While we appreciated that it was provided free of charge, the support offered during that time felt limited.
We were told that someone would return to address a malfunctioning booster pump, but we never received any follow-up communication - no calls, texts, or emails - after that conversation.
We did not request educational resources on pool care. Our goal was to find experienced professionals who could help resolve the condition of the pool after move-in. The suggestion to buy a book on pool care that was referred to as "pools for dummies", regardless of intent, did not feel appropriate in the moment given the situation.
My review was not about assigning blame for the algae. We understand that pool conditions can change quickly, especially during a transition of ownership. My intent was simply to share our firsthand experience with the level of responsiveness and support we received during a very stressful time.
I recognize that critical reviews are never easy to receive, but I hope you can also understand how the situation felt from the customer’s side. We were hoping for a more engaged and solutions-oriented approach and were disappointed with how things were handled.

When I had an emergency come up with my pool I contacted Jay with Brakefield's Pool Service late in the evening and he responded by coming out ASAP and spending two hours helping me fix my pool and getting it in working order. Jay gives you a fair price for such excellent service and no pesky annual contract - he even goes above and beyond what both of our previous "chain" Pool Service companies have done for a more competitive price. He shows up reliably every week and literally just lets me and my family focus on enjoying our pool, I can't recommend him and his company enough. Even if it's just for a single service or repair, Jay's your man!
