Choosing a pool builder is one of the biggest investments you can make for your home. We shopped around. A lot. We ultimately signed with Tidal Wave Pools because of their superior materials, warranties, and competitive pricing compared to other well-known builders in the area. Overall, we are very happy with our final pool and the quality of the craftsmanship.The Sales Experience:Our initial sales experience with Mike and Mandy was overall positive one. They were responsive, answered all our questions, and helped us work within our budget (even upgrading our original design at their expense because it would look better). They promised better warranties and higher-quality materials than a competing reputable builder, which ultimately won our business. We were initially given a verbal timeline of 120 days from the date the contract was signed, even though due to a very rainy spring, we had a swimmable pool at day 151. During the build process, there were some promises made that needed reminding and some communication snafus along the way, but ultimately these guys made everything right by us and we are truly grateful.Overall Thoughts:Joey, our project manager, was a gem. It always felt like he was on our team and wanted to put the customer first. He communicated about what was coming next and was our first point of contact for our questions. When a concern arose, he was professional and timely in responding. He did a truly great job. In our experience, TW was not the type of company who takes your check and then ignores you. The entire team, Joey, Mandy, Mike, the owner JR, and Derek were great to work with and wanted to make things right for us, which was very refreshing. Most of the trade crews are true, seasoned professionals who do incredible work. The material quality and final aesthetic of the pool are stunning, and the warranties provide great peace of mind. When issues or concerns arose, Joey and the team ultimately stepped in to make things right (such as upgrading our existing patio pad to match the new coping). We are very happy with our beautiful new yard and extremely grateful for the hard work and effort that Tidal Wave put into giving us this incredible new space.Things I wish I had known:-If you want to swim by summer, start in October and expect weather delays.-Discuss and budget an extra buffer for potential soil conditions (clay remediation) AND for hitting rock.-Be very specific about any extra requests you have. Get those in writing and on your contract to help avoid any miscommunication. Do this during the sales meetings before you sign. While everything was made right for us, there were things that popped up that we had to have a few crucial conversations over. Easier to just be very clear from the start and have everything you need that is specific to your build in writing.That's it. 5 Stars for customer centered service. We LOVE our new pool, we are SO thankful and grateful for the TW team!
After getting quotes from four different pool companies, Tidal Wave completely blew the others out of the water! From start to finish, they were incredible, and we are so glad we chose them to build our dream pool.They started the dig in February, which involved taking out a huge oak tree and maneuvering equipment into our tiny side yard, and wrapped up by the end of May. Mike designed a gorgeous pool for us and made picking out tiles and plaster a breeze. We couldn’t be happier with how beautiful everything turned out!All the contractors were professional, easy to work with, and fast. When there was a slight hiccup with our concrete, Tidal Wave immediately jumped in with options and did the work to make it 100% right.A special shoutout to our project manager, Jonathan! He kept us in the loop the entire time and was always quick to answer my texts and calls. I can be a very nervous person, but he was so patient with all my silly questions and completely eased my anxiety. We appreciate him so much!I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Tidal Wave and Jonathan to anyone building a pool in the Dallas area!
Finished our pool/spa in Oct 2025 and finally able to sit down to write this review. Shopped around and chose Tidal Wave based on our initial consult and their outstanding reviews, and I gotta say we are very happy with the build.There was a bit of a delay with completion in 5 months vs the estimated 3 months which we had hoped in order to be able to enjoy the pool more before the cold, but weather contributed as well as some adjustments to do the build right, which we much prefer, and we felt is understandable with Tidal Wave being a smaller boutique-ish builder (as opposed to a bigger company with abundant resources), but that's also why we chose them.Initial consult and design with Mike Eva was excellent. Mike put together an excellent design that reflected our requests, and both he and owner JR were accommodating with changes/additions.The owner JR cares about his clients and customer care. He came out on-site several times to make sure we were happy and to address questions and concerns. Any company can make small mistakes, but we give high props to JR and team for making things right when they weren't, which reflects their professionalism and in the quality of the final build.Our superintendent Jonathan Gonzalez was patient and responsive throughout the build. He went out of his way multiple times to make sure to bring up our concerns/requests with the company, which were ultimately addressed. He made sure we were happy even when finishing up a few noncritical items long after the build. We are very appreciative of all he did and highly recommend him for anyone looking to build with them.Lastly, our construction manager Derek Richey was helpful throughout the process and in reviewing important aspects of pool maintenance during pool school. He was also prompt in helping us address a heater warranty issue shortly after completion of the build, which has been working like a champ since.Overall, we would highly recommend Tidal Wave to anyone looking to build a backyard paradise (We've already referred friends). We had a great experience with Tidal Wave. They definitely know what customer service means. From the start working with Mike designing our pool to JR making sure I found the tile choices I loved. Joey was over seeing the entire process and did great at keeping us informed and updated on all the steps. I really appreciated how clean they kept the construction site along the way and the attention to detail on each step. We love Tidal Wave and I’m certain you will too!

He consistently answered all of our questions and addressed concerns in a timely manner.Pool building can be stressful—especially when you’re not familiar with the different stages, occasional delays, and what to expect—but Joey took the time to explain each step and kept us well informed throughout. His prompt communication truly made the experience much more enjoyable and stress-free.They just filled the pool yesterday, and it already looks absolutely beautiful.
