I've been going to this place for 14 years and they have always gone above and beyond. Good name for a good company and staff.
I had Above and Beyond Pool and Spa install a new pool liner about 3 years ago, and the experience has been one continuous problem from the start. I normally do not post reviews like this, but after years of being dragged along and seeing so many other unhappy customers, I feel people should know what they may be dealing with. The liner was installed late in the season. Before that first season was even over, I noticed a large area in the deep end — approximately 12x24 inches — where rocks were clearly underneath the liner. I contacted Michelle, who assured me they would come fix the issue. After repeated calls and waiting well beyond the normal time I close my pool, I was eventually told I would be “the first customer taken care of in the spring.” I still have the voicemail from August 9 at 10:37 AM confirming that.Spring came and went with no call from the company. Once again, I had to reach out myself. They eventually sent Jessie, the same installer who originally installed the liner. I had previously been told by Vince that the installers had at least five years of experience, but Jessie informed me this was actually his first year doing installs when he was at my house.Per the company’s instructions, I had already drained the pool in preparation for the repair. After finally showing up, Jessie stated there was nothing they could do and that I would need an entirely new liner after only one year of use. Michelle then quoted me approximately $4,700 for another liner after I had already spent over $7,000 the year before. In my opinion, once this company gets paid, customer service disappears completely. I have saved the voicemails, text messages, phone records, and security camera footage documenting these interactions.Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere before hiring this company. There are plenty of other pool companies that value their customers and stand behind their work.
I recommend to buy from here. Devan was helpful before I even set foot in the store. She got back to me with real information while I was researching what was needed. There wasn't any weird salesperson pressuring me or unexpected costs when I purchased our pool. The installer Jason understands his job well and has great attention to detail. He was on time and friendly. Not a single wrinkle on the liner. The thing is super flat on the bottom. I played cards and drank coffee on the porch while the crew installed. There was a slight delay on the install, but they did a great job handling a few stressed out calls from my wife and myself. You can't control everything (like weather), but the way a business responds says a lot. A pool is a project, and responsiveness is important. They say "everything but the water", and they live up to it.
This company has been nothing but frustrating to work with. We had our pool liner replaced 2 years ago and are still having issues. They didn't properly install the liner so the pool was continuously losing water. They offered very little customer service and incredibly slow response time. We thought the issue was fixed after they came that first time and enjoyed the rest of our summer. Then when we opened our pool the next year. Instead of being full like normal, the pool was almost empty and the liner had pulled away from the pool wall. It took them more than a month to come out and fix the issue and even after there was a slight leaking issues which we mentioned and never got assistance resolving causing us to miss a large part of the swimming season. This year, to get ahead of things, we opened our pool early. In doing so the water was down to the returns instead of full like it normally is. We didn't think much of it, filled the pool again, and opened like normal, since then, in two weeks, we have had to fill the pool again 3 times as we have lost about 10 inches cumulatively.Overall between these 3 swimming seasons, due to issues with the liner I have had to spend between $1,000.00-$2,000.00 just on water to refill the pool from the leaking issues. Will never use these guys again. Here is a picture of our pool right now after having fully filled it to just under the top 4 days ago.
I purchased a high end Master Spa hot tub from Michelle, owner of Above and Beyond in February 2021. Service was good until I made a warranty claim about the spa cover which the photos I took clearly show was defective. Apparently the manufacturer put the foam insulation into the cover while it was still hot causing it to weld itself to the cover material, which made it impossible to flip the insulation over from time to time per the manufacturer's instruction in order to keep water from pooling on the cover.I sent photos along with an explanation of the issue to Michelle, the owner of Above and Beyond, which she forwarded to Master Spas. Master Spas requested additional photos which I provided, in abundance. Since then, which has been over two months, I have heard nothing from Michelle or Master Spas.I have emailed Michelle and left numerous messages, as she never seems to be available when I call. At this point it is clear that she is ghosting me and has no intention of doing the right thing. This is an example of how you don't really find out what kind of business you are dealing with until there is a significant issue, which replacing the hot tub cover qualifies as. Michelle, as owner of Above and Beyond, as well as Master Spas have demonstrated they are not good companies.I would never consider doing business with either again. Take heed, shop elsewhere.
