Reviews highlight strong design ideas and attractive results on many completed pool and landscape projects. Several customers noted helpful guidance through technical steps and continued support after completion. There are also critical reviews citing communication gaps and timelines extending well beyond expectations on some jobs. Overall feedback reflects quality outcomes for many clients alongside variability in scheduling and project management.
Update - see end of review.I cannot express my immense disappointment with Hampton Pools & Landscape, whom I hired for my pool & landscape project. Their glaring lack of communication, planning, and overall management led to a project that dragged on for a staggering 22 months, despite their own projected timeline of just 3 months. It is with great frustration, and ongoing issues, that I write this negative review to warn others about their incompetence and lack of professionalism. From the very beginning, the company failed to maintain consistent and effective communication. I constantly had to chase them for even the most basic information, which is highly unprofessional and unacceptable. It quickly became evident that they were ill-prepared and unable to handle the scope of my project. Delays, excuses, and constant changes to the timeline became the norm, leaving me utterly frustrated.Their own project schedule, which estimated a completion time of 3 months, was nothing more than a pipe dream. I watched in disbelief as week after week went by with minimal progress, and the company seemed disorganized and incapable of keeping to their own commitments. It is clear that they had no control over the project's workflow, resulting in a prolonged and unnecessarily drawn-out ordeal. This level of incompetence is simply unacceptable. The company showed a complete lack of respect for my time and investment, leaving me a project that has major flaws (including, most recently, a failing retaining wall). The lack of professionalism and failure to manage their resources effectively are red flags that should make any potential customer reconsider working with this company.I strongly advise anyone considering hiring Hampton Pools and Landscape to look elsewhere for their needs. The lack of quality, communication, planning, and accountability they exhibited throughout my project should serve as a warning sign to others. Save yourself the stress, disappointment, and wasted time by finding a company that values its customers and can deliver on its promises. Should you still require more information relating to this, I encourage you to look into civil law suits against this company, this review is well documented there!*update* retaining walls constructed by Hampton are now failing. Several companies who have assessed the rebuild are all baffled by the original construction and corners that were cut!
I recently had the pleasure of working with Hampton Pools & Landscape for a large backyard pool scape installation, and I am incredibly proud of the results. It certainly was a process and one that took an education in things I knew nothing about like geotechnical and structural engineering, electrical routing, cantilevering and so much more but I felt incredibly supported by Denise Van Beveren and Tim Valerioti though every step of a very intense and sprawling project. Before we started, I had a virtually useless backyard on the side of a mountain and from initial consultation through to completion, Tim (the designer and chief of Hampton)and his team literally transformed it into a stunning oasis reminiscent of 1960’s Palm Springs. I didn’t want the usual kind of backyard and approached the project with a finite budget and Tim and Hampton took that challenge on with aplomb. As everything was completely custom, I know I couldn’t have gotten the kind of results from just any pool company. I am so happy that I selected Hampton because they understand that "custom" refers to designs, materials, or features that are specifically tailored to meet the unique needs, preferences, and specifications of their client, including architectural designs, layouts, finishes, and fixtures. This was very important for me because it allowed me to have a space that reflects my individual taste and lifestyle. Hampton ensured that every detail aligned with my vision. That kind of value is Incomparable.Their custom design absolutely enhanced the functionality of my space and in fact, added a tremendous amount of usable square footage and significantly increased the value of my property. I know that my new backyard sanctuary will add significant value, making it more attractive to future buyers, especially those who appreciate unique and high quality elements.I felt like working with Hampton was a true collaboration. There was a lot of flexibility and we made changes during the design and construction process, allowing for adjustments based on new ideas and solutions to problems that arose.Custom construction encourages creativity and innovation, leading to unique solutions which is why i am compelled to highlight Tim Valerioti, the designer and powerhouse behind this incredible transformation. Tim is not just a designer; he is a true artist with a remarkable ability to blend creativity with functionality. His keen eye for detail and innovative solutions made the entire process very enjoyable. Tim approached every challenge with a problem-solving mindset, ensuring that each component of my backyard was not only beautiful but custom tailored to my dreams. What truly sets Tim apart is his reluctant big heart. He genuinely cares about his clients and their visions, making the collaboration feel personal and tailored. His design was based on a fractal and from the initial 3D design presentation I was hooked. The design features a gorgeous pool with a Baja ledge and custom liner. The custom fire pit is a fantastic gathering spot for evenings, and the outdoor solar shower and counter space add incredible functionality. The cantilevered hot tub looks like a nest suspended out on a ledge.A couple of the standout features are the complete restoration and modification of my 1958 Shasta Airflyte trailer that is now my writing studio, pool house and bar.I also love the utterly unique art pedestals they incorporated, which showcase my quirky, artistic sensibility and create a sense of whimsy that everyone comments on when they come to enjoy the pool. The addition of outdoor swings, and a neon sign brings a fun, whimsical vibe that my family and friends adore.Overall, Hampton Pools & Landscape exceeded my expectations. Their commitment to me as their client, through every aspect of the project (and it wasn’t all easy or smooth), was honestly without equal. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to create a custom outdoor space, because they believe in, and make magic.
Hampton did a full re-landscaping of my lakefront property including a new pool and hot tub. That was back in 2012. They have stood by their work and done anything they can to help me keep it all as beautiful and functional as ever. I love what they did with the property as much today as I did eleven years ago!
After believing that we had done our homework on pool companies, we hired Hampton Pools in Sept 2019 to create a pool oasis in our yard. Tim’s design was good, but we should have recognized the red flags. There was never a set of blueprints created, nor elevations shot to measure from (a definite necessity as it turned out). The “drawings” were not to scale nor did they reflect actual location of buildings on our lot.Communication between management, supervisors, crews, sub trades and the homeowners (us), was minimal at best. Poor organization of workspace, crews, and daily tasks meant the job took much longer than expected. We were advised that it would take 2-3 months to complete (starting the last week of Sept). At the beginning of December, we shut down the crew. It was far too cold to continue and although we were told they could continue working through the winter, we were not prepared to pay to cover and heat the entire area. There was still so much work to do!We (homeowners) completed ALL of the landscaping, gardens, and finished (restructured) the tiled decks, to make elevation grades work, in the spring of 2020.I could go on and on with specific issues, and there were MANY, but I will confirm that the liner was installed at the end of May, and the auto cover finally this summer, and we were finally able to swim.Since then, we have spoken to a few sub trades, and suppliers, and they have literally apologized when they hear that Hampton was our pool installer. What should have been an exciting time and project for us, was not...
We moved to Kelowna and built a house with a pool 2 years ago. We were unfamiliar with any contractors or businesses but Hampton Pools and Landscaping was highly recommended. We were not disappointed. Tim did a great job helping us choose our pool tile and design to get the look we wanted and in recommending different features for the pool. Tim and Dean together with their crew, suggested and created a unique landscape design and fence. Any issues that arose were dealt with quickly and professionally. Everyone we dealt with at Hampton was pleasant and professional and I would not hesitate to recommend their team.Madeleine
