Recent reviews note mixed experiences. Many customers mention reliable upkeep when on a regular schedule and appreciate having a go-to team while out of town. Others report communication gaps, scheduling changes, and concerns with quality on certain remodeling or deck/tile projects. Responsiveness and follow-through appear to be recurring themes in the feedback.
My wife Cris signed a contract with ASP Pool Svcs for a pool deck renovation. So disappointed. Doug and his sub-contractor agreed to grout the pool deck tiles with gaps. After I paid them, I reported many of the tiles have gaps 1/8”> and need to be grouted. Some of the tiles are not level. The service and quality of work is below expectations and falls short of what was promised. This was a stressful experience. I have asked them to make it right and they do not respond to text or phone calls. I have lost my confidence in ASP Pools and have hired another contractor to finish the job and have cancelled my pool maintenance service.
I dont really ever post many negative complaints about poor service from companies because I usually handle it and move on. Since America's Swimming Pool Company of Schertz refuses to return any phone calls or texts to discuss my concerns I will post this as much of a warning as it is a rant. DO NOT USE ASP - America's Swimming Pool Company of Schertz for your pool cleaning and servicing needs! We have used them for about a year now and about a month ago or so our normal guy that came out to clean it apparently quit and since then, they have sent 2 different people out to clean and service it. We have service scheduled every other week. The new technician that came out today had no clue what she was doing. She didnt know how to operate the pool pumps to be able to clean it. Luckily my wife was home to turn the pump on for her before she messed something up on my pool equipment trying to figure it out. She didnt know how to operate the vacuum to clean out the pool. Did a crappy job cleaning it once she figured out how to use it and had no clue about adding chemicals.Pool was clear when they started and is now starting to cloud up since the service. She added an entire gallon of muriatic all at once which is a big no no. She added a chlorine tablet when we have a salt water pool with a chlorinator instead of adding liquid chlorine which is another big no no.We took a snapshot of what the pool chemistry readings they provided to us was before they started and what ASP added in chemicals and we took it to a local pool chemical store to get their input and they were shocked at what ASP did to the pool in terms of adding chemicals and said that in a couple of days after the chemicals settle we will probably need to totally rebalance our chemistry because of what they did.On top of this, the company constantly cancels scheduled service without notice because of manning issues. Also, they do not return phone calls or texts.
Rick solid conpany. We manage our own pool reqs, but ASP, we consider them our partners in the upkeep. Anytime out of town, I know that ASP will ensure that I’m not concerned over my pool.
It really used to be the best service. Since my regular guy left it has gone downhill. Service rescheduled, fountains watering my grass when the tech left, never at the same time. I also paid for a full month last year I did not get sue to holidays. I am changing service and I guess I will just eat this months bill since they are impossible to get a hold of.
So disappointed. We started off very hopeful that ASP would be able to do a good job on resurfacing our pool, fixing a few cracks in our flagstone coping, and maintaining our pool after the (very expansive) project. Tina and Doug were very helpful and responsive as we got started, but as soon as we’d paid 60% of our project (the day the begin) they were extremely difficult to get ahold of, pawned us off on sub-contractors we weren’t even aware of (Fiji pools), and stopped responding to any of our concerns unless money was involved. We should never have paid the final chunk until everything was done correctly, but they pressured us and had access to charge our CC. Bottom line, be very cautious when starting a big project with them. Do not pay the final amount until everything is completely done as you expect. We were left with a leaking spa for 6 weeks, horrible grout work (sloppy and cracking) and damage to our flagstone, chipped plaster around our jets, and a green pool for a week after an expensive “startup”. Their communication throughout the project was so horrible. They’d show up for one day and then say nothing about the plan or show up for 5+ days. Most issues were eventually resolved, but our flagstone still looks much worse than before they “renovated” it and they refuse to do anything to make it right. Top photo js before and bottom photo is after ASP. We are disappointing and I don’t even know how to go about undoing their work. (Don’t be fooled by the pool deck and expansion joint improvements - thankfully another company did that for us). We’ve asked them to please consider how they can make it right, but they do not respond.
