JLV Construction

I’ve had a great experience working with JLV Construction. The team is professional, organized, and takes pride in doing quality work the right way. Communication is clear, expectations are always set upfront, and safety and code compliance are taken seriously on every job. Management is respectful and supportive, and they value skilled workmanship and teamwork. Projects are well planned, materials are handled properly, and there’s a strong focus on delivering clean, reliable results for clients. I would confidently recommend this company to anyone looking for dependable, high-quality contracting work or a solid place to work with real professionals.

Our exceptional team of professionals led by Trey Herkes who has a great eye for detail which matched mine as an interior architect/designer with Mario Escato as our on site project leader and Claudia Hurtado who made sure we stayed on budget and tracked all aspects of the project properly. The three of them ensured that the major renovation of our new home stayed on time (actually a couple of weeks early) and on budget. We are very pleased with the team and would highly recommend them.

Outstanding Work – Highly Recommended! We recently hired JLV Contruction to redo both our front and back porches, build custom shelves, replace several doors and light fixtures, and paint both the interior and exterior of our home—and we couldn’t be happier with the results! JLV was the 3rd group that we hired to do the work but had difficulty getting call backs or getting anything started. Then after waiting over a year for other contractors to do anything, JLV told us that they could do the work less than two months. From start to finish, the team was professional, punctual, and incredibly skilled. The craftsmanship on the porches is exceptional—solid, beautifully finished, and built to last. The custom shelves they built are not only functional but also a perfect match for our home's style. Every door and light fixture was installed with care and precision, and the painting—inside and out—was flawless. They took great care with every detail, and it shows. What really stood out to us was their patience and flexibility. As the project progressed, we had a few additional requests and changes, and they were always accommodating, never missing a beat. They handled everything with a positive attitude and made sure we were happy every step of the way. Their attention to detail, clear communication, and pride in their work made the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. JLV kept the work areas clean, respected our home, and finished everything on time. It’s rare to find contractors this reliable, talented, and easy to work with. We wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again and have already recommended them to friends and neighbors. If you’re looking for quality workmanship and a team that truly cares, look no further!

Just finished a historic renovation in the Lower Garden District with JLV and couldn't be happier. They truly delivered on time and on budget. Jessica Leiva was an absolute superstar project manager – her attention to detail and dedication were incredible. The owner Jose was also a pleasure to work with, super knowledgable and felt personally invested in my project. I highly recommend JLV for any project, small or large.

JLV Construction | Custom Residential and Commercial Builder – New Orleans, LA After the passing of my mother, we were faced with the emotional and complex task of renovating her historic Creole Cottage in New Orleans. Choosing JLV Construction was the best decision we could have made. From the beginning, José L. Villeda’s vision, leadership, and expert advice were essential in resolving design issues as they came up. This was no ordinary project—it involved leveling the home, disassembling it to the studs, and rebuilding approximately 80% with new lumber while preserving its historic soul. José guided the project with both technical excellence and personal compassion. The entire JLV team was incredibly respectful of my connection to the home and truly made me feel heard throughout the process. We could not have achieved our historical and aesthetic goals without the incredible support of the administrative team: Daniel Escoto, Angelica Valdivia, Claudia Hurtado, Carolina Gutierrez, and Katie Rowley. Our onsite team was equally impressive—Froyian Villeda and Lorenzo Vidal deserve special thanks for their craftsmanship and professionalism. A heartfelt shout-out also goes to Kirk Williamson, Sales Director, for keeping all the moving parts aligned and ensuring consistent communication. We live out of state and needed a builder we could trust completely. JLV delivered—on schedule, with transparency, and with unmatched quality. We interviewed several contractors over six months, but JLV stood out as the only one who offered full-spectrum guidance: from selecting an architect to obtaining updated surveys and working with the city on historical approvals. The final result is not just a renovation—it’s a work of art. If you’re looking for a trusted, full-service company to handle your custom residential or commercial build with care and excellence, JLV Construction is the one.
