Model Remodel was great to work with through the entire process of remodeling our basement. It was a big project and they helped us think through major decisions and handle any surprises we ran into. Everybody was a genuine pleasure to work with and we didn't need to manage any of the sub-contractors on our project (unlike previous general contractors we've worked with).

We just wrapped up a full basement remodel with Model Remodel—taken all the way down to studs and sub-floor—as well as a replacement of our back deck, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Ryan, Jack, Sergei, Mark, Cat, and the rest of the team were friendly, professional, and highly capable partners throughout the process. For a project of this size and complexity, the vast majority of the work went remarkably smoothly. Of course, with any major remodel there were a few unforeseen challenges along the way, but what really stood out was how promptly and proactively the team addressed issues as they surfaced. Communication was clear, solutions were thoughtful, and we always felt confident things would be made right—and they were. We’re thrilled with the new space and already getting great use out of it. We’d happily recommend Model Remodel to friends and wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again on future projects.

We had a problem with the basement wall. They came very quickly and evaluated thoroughly. They reassured us we didn’t need further intervention. Would definitely use them in the future. Thank you again.

The entire Model Remodel experience was wonderful. They turned our ramblings into concrete design ideas, making suggestions that far surpassed our original plan — everything from architecture to finishing touches. They were able to combine my husband’s and my visions so that both of us were pleased with the end result. The staff was professional, friendly, and passionate about remodeling….and they finished on time!

We had a very positive experience with Model Remodel for our addition. We had a vague idea of what we wanted, but our designer came up with some great options that made the most of our available space while keeping in mind our budget limitations. The team stayed in communication with us throughout the project and kept us on budget and on schedule. We really appreciated all the due diligence they did before starting the project (for example, identifying the exact location of a decommissioned oil tank) to avoid expensive surprises mid-project.

A construction permit is required for a Seattle home addition; smaller room additions may qualify for a subject-to-field inspection permit.

Can Model Remodel build additions during winter?

For additions, Model Remodel says it builds year-round and protects work sites with tarps or schedules some construction around dry forecasts.

What can affect an attic conversion?
