Gray Line Roofing

This is the preview to the work being done to my sunroom and garage roof. I thank you Stephen for your honesty. Stephen told me my roof was in good condition on my home but my sunroom roof needs work as well as the garage roof. I appreciate his honesty and looking forward to the completed job. The inspection and estimate process appeared thorough, and the installation crew worked hard. Unfortunately, my experience after installation was disappointing. As soon as the roof was completed, I noticed concerns with the flashing, sealant application, and other installation details. I asked multiple technical questions about what I was seeing, but instead of receiving explanations, I was repeatedly told the issues were cosmetic or covered by warranty. Several management inspections were promised but never occurred or occurred without my knowledge, and communication about follow-up was inconsistent. I also discovered that new gutters had been installed over visibly deteriorated fascia, despite the condition of the fascia having been discussed during the estimate. When I questioned why this had occurred, I was told it was a “communication issue.” Only AFTER I raised the concern was it determined that the deterioration extended beyond the fascia trim into structural components requiring additional repairs. Because I was unable to get clear answers, I contacted GAF directly to better understand the installation requirements associated with the warranty that had been represented. Based on those discussions and the information provided, I raised additional concerns with Gray Line. To the company’s credit, they returned to replace the flashing and install metal drip edge after I raised these issues. I appreciate that those corrections were made. However, my confidence in the project had already been undermined by the need for me as a the home owner to independently research manufacturer requirements, identify apparent installation concerns, and repeatedly advocate for corrective action. Construction projects don’t have to be perfect, but I do expect clear communication, transparency, and proactive quality control. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

Steven Blackwell came out to my home in the rain at appointment time and was one of the most HONEST guys I think i have meet in years. He evaluated my issue and guided me to the correct decision. I cannot stress how impressed I was with his understanding of situation and guidance to correct solution. If all their employees are like him there is no better place to go for roof repair. He is a 12 on 10 scale.

Excellent company!! They quoted a very good price, were quick, and professional. I had them install 3 solar powered attic fans that are self sustaining (not required to connect to any electrical), and they were done in just a few hours, they left no trash or mess, were very thorough about positioning them where I wanted them, where it was possible, and it turned out great!! I will absolutely use this company again for any of my roofing needs. I also very much appreciate that they offer a military discount.

I am beyond thrilled that I hired this company for my new roof. Stephen came out to assess some concerns I had over some possible leaks. He was kind, very thorough, and knowledgeable. My husband and I decided to go ahead and buy a new roof versus fixing the existing damage. Within a week from receiving an estimate, the job was completed. Stephen called me daily to inform and involve me with everything that was happening. Once the roof was completed, I met with Darren, who was at the job site. It means a lot to me when the owner can visit the job site to ensure everything was done to satisfaction. I am amazed at the respect I was given, the superior customer service, and the professionalism of this company. After completion, the job site was spotless. All nails and debris were picked up; my yard is cleaner than it was prior to the installation! My new roof looks beautiful! We are very happy with our new roof from Gray Line Roofing and we’ve received several compliments. From the day I called them, due to a leak in the roof, to the day of completion was around 5 days. Stephen, who is amazing, came out to our house on a weekend, assessed our problem, and provided two solutions. Ultimately, we decided on replacing our 20 year old roof and couldn’t be happier. Pricing was perfect. Stephen worked with us and basically made an offer we couldn’t say no to. Three days later, the crew began work, and they were fast. It’s messy business tearing off an old roof but when they departed on the second day, they had cleaned up everything. I scoured the driveway for loose nails but didn’t find a single one. Throughout the entire process, communication was great. The job supervisor texted and called periodically to update me on the status. He even texted me when they went to lunch. The workers were respectful, professional, and very polite. It’s been hit or miss for us in Virginia Beach with contractors and such as we work to keep this house in shape. Gray Line Roofing was a home run.

Very pleased with Gray Line Roofing the salesman Stephen is good. He did a complete inspection from the attic. Found multiple leaks and took pictures. We agreed on a price and a date. They came a day early and knocked it out quick. Cleaned up the mess and took more pictures of damage and the completed repairs. Very happy and would recommend them to anyone. Definitely would call them again.

Quite simply, The Best! We could not be happier with our results from start to finish. From Rob, who was canvassing our neighborhood, to Roger who explained everything in terms we could understand, to Tyler who managed the actual install, this team is quite simply the best. Rob was incredibly respectful when he stopped by our house. Roger was thorough and answered all of our questions and addressed our concerns upfront. Tyler was kind and helpful, and proud of his crew for very obvious reasons. His crew themselves were great also, they waved at and engaged my son when he shouted up a greeting to them. The actual product is stellar. It looks fantastic, and after a solid night of rain the craftsmanship is apparent, as there were no new leaks, and old leaks gone! We were VERY impressed that the crew was able to fulfill their promise to get the job done in one day. The day before our install, a neighbor began a roof replacement project with a competitor roofing company. Their job ended up being a 3-day install for a similar amount of roofing, and the dumpster stayed in their driveway over the weekend before being picked up. For our project, materials were delivered the day before, and all other supplies the day of the project. The team did a wonderful job cleaning up the nails and roof debris from our yard, with Tyler himself doing a final sweep to make sure everything was properly cleaned up. This was important to me, since we have kids and pets who spend a lot of time outside. All in all, we’re are so happy with our new roof, and would recommend Gray Line Roofing over any of their competitors. Thank you so much Gray Line, you are the best!!
