Extremely dissatisfied customer. Everything was great until our panels suddenly stopped producing energy, entirely. We just got the panels installed in April 2025 and finally up and running in June 2025. We have been without energy producing panels since December 2025. It is now, March 2026. We’ve reached out to the maintenance team just to get an appointment a month out from when we called. As soon as the technician came in, he then said we have to wait once again for the part replacement(which he ensured us would’ve been quick considering our system already sent the fault to their team) Their warehouse and main office is located in Charlotte. We’re in Fayetteville. It has been a month since the technician last dropped by.I was skeptical to do business with this company considering they were smaller and just starting up but I went along with it anyway. So please yourselves the headache and go with another company that is more reliable because we bit the bullet on this and now we just shot ourselves in the foot.
Top Tier gives good service and does an excellent job of installation. They keep the customer informed throughout the process. I would have only one caution to offer: if you want to know how much you will actually save on your power bill consult the power company, not the solar company..
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. This is a pyramid scheme company that makes money off of summer door to door salesman. They sell you a solar system when in reality they are selling you a 100% overpriced solar loan.My system is supposed to be 88% efficient. It was supposed to reduce my electric bill from $200 to $30 a month. Instead I have had my system for 4 years now. I am still paying $150-200 a month to Duke as well as a $150 a month solar payment.All of the 5 star ratings you are seeing are from people who signed instantly and were offered a $200 incentive to leave a rating on Google.Today I had a salesman, right out of college, come to my home to fix my efficiently issue (4 years later). He had no idea what he was doing, it was his first week on the job, and his superiors told him that I need a battery backup.Had to spend $30k for solar system only to save $30 a month and now Top Tier's fix is for me to buy an additional $20k battery package.I got scammed and have been talking with a lawyer on how to resolve my issues. Do not waste your time with this company.
We purchased our solar panels in 2024 from Top Tier solutions. The service was installed quickly and professionally. The problems come in when you need any assistance after you've paid and after installation. In the city we live in, we were told that our energy that we generated could not be used by us until we had a battery installed. So this year we had a battery installed and since then we have not been able to track any of our solar usage. We have called Top Tier multiple times and spoke with the project manager on multiple occasions and we have just been put off and put off with no solutions. It's amazing how fast this company moves when it comes to signing you up for services and getting paid, but once that is done they take their time with everything else. I am not satisfied at all with company's service in response to malfunctions and problems.
Update 10/8/25: They came back through our neighborhood again today! Knocked on our door and rang the bell, despite all of our "no soliciting" signs still being up. We ignored them, but then listened to them tell our neighbor that if they didnt jump on the deal being offered, their electricity bill would go from $100 to $100,000 in two years ?? Next time they come through, I think were just going to call the cops and hopefully that will get our neighborhood off of their list!Update 8/8/25: We added a 4th "No soliciting" sign at eye level, right in the center of our front door this afternoon to try to make it even more clear. Signs 2, 3, and 4 were all present yesterday when FOUR different Top Tier employees came to our door during a roughly 90 minute span of time. Pictures attached.8/7/25: We have THREE "No soliciting" signs in front of our house, two of which are literally on and above our Ring camera. Many of the owner's responses seem to be, "Just don't answer the door then," but when we ignored the aggressive, loud knocking and repeated ringing of our bell, they came back and did it again twice within an hour and a half! Clearly ignoring the salespeople doesn't work, so maybe the contractors being employed should be taught to respect resident's wishes to not have solicitors banging on their door.
