We used Solar Energy World (SEW) in 2000 for our install and couldn't be happier! They are the best in the area (pricing and option-wise) and fully-support their systems. You don't have to worry about the company disappearing for the system warranty labor coverage. Daren Weatherby is an excellent sales rep and truly knows his stuff+the industry. He will guide you toward the optimal config. for your roof/energy situation (there is a sweet spot for ROI). Our system paid for itself in 5.5 years and now we have another 20+ yrs of "free" energy coming from the power of the sun! Use SEW with confidence and ask for Daren to help you. All of our neighbors used him too and are extremely satisfied. A+++ - no regrets.

From the start, the installation process was careless and caused multiple issues. Their crew damaged our ceiling and sprinkler head while working in the attic, left paint mismatched after repairs, and tracked dirt/mulch through the house despite being asked to use protective coverings. We also had to clean up screws, bolts, and metal debris left around our driveway ourselves.

More seriously, the installation led to ongoing roof damage, with materials and debris continuing to fall off our roof and even onto our neighbor’s property—creating both safety and liability concerns.

Despite repeatedly following up since February, the roof repair was never properly addressed. On March 19, we were given a confirmed appointment for repairs on March 25 (8–9 AM). No one showed up. I followed up immediately and multiple times after that with no resolution.

At one point, their crew was working at our neighbor’s house, but told us they were not scheduled to do any work at ours.

Weeks later, we were told the job had been handed to a subcontractor and that “they should have reached out”—but no one ever did.

This has been a consistent pattern: missed appointments, poor workmanship, lack of coordination, no communication, and zero accountability. After months of delays and broken promises, we are now forced to hire our own contractor and send them the bill.

If you value your time, money, and peace of mind—stay away from this company.

My solar system is now fully operational, and I’m very happy with how it turned out. It looks great. I did A LOT of research before going with SEW as my installer. From start to finish, the process with them was smooth. They handled everything including permits, dealing with my HOA, county inspection, and utility interconnection.

Jacques Frink was my energy advisor/sales rep, and he is excellent. He was always attentive and responsive, and returned my phone calls/texts quickly. Any issues I brought up, Jacques was on it to make sure it got handled. The crew had to come out a couple times to finish installing the critter guard and skirting, and Jacques stayed on top of it until it was complete. I’m very happy with the experience and would recommend SEW to anyone thinking about installing solar on their home.

We had solar panels put in by Solar Energy World last summer and have seen a dramatic decrease in our electric bills. Brad was very helpful getting the process going and the crew who did the installation were great. The end result is really pretty. They also sent a great how to list when the system was complete and needed to be registered for tracking and SRECs. If you’re in the market, this is a great company to work with.

I happened upon Solar Energy World by chance searching Google for ways to save money on my electricity. I set up an appt with Ryan and he was very pleasant and made it easy to understand what we could get out of going solar and if it was a good option for us. He walked us through the process and I swear was just as excited as we were when things got installed and the day came to turn on the panels. Over a year ago, I first met with Andy to discuss whether solar would even make sense for my home. At that time my roof was nearly 50 years old and had previous damage and neglect that I wanted to address before considering any major installation. I explained to Andy that I planned to replace the entire roof and the decking first to ensure the structure was sound.

From that very first conversation, Andy was patient, knowledgeable, and never pushy. He understood my timeline and never pressured me to move faster than I was ready for. Once the roof was finally replaced, Andy immediately picked up where we left off and got the solar process moving smoothly.

I began my solar journey getting far too many quotes from local, regional, and national companies. With an absurd amount of quotes and different equipment, I finally got in touch with Nick at Solar Energy World. While each company had their own way or presenting the data, equipment, and expected savings, Nick was the first to really just talk to me as a person and try to understand what I already knew and where gaps were in my knowledge.

At no point did I ever feel pressured to make a decision, rather he just became someone that knew a ton about solar that I could ask questions. My personal style of understanding a new and expensive technology is to ask a ridiculous amount of questions and find very specific and detailed answers. Nick was able to do that for me with ease and without frustration. Rarely did I find something he didn't know off the top of his head and in a few cases where he didn't immediately have the answer, he checked in with the engineering team to get an accurate response.

Once I decided to move forward with the quote, SEW worked behind the scenes to get everything lined up with the county and power company. Occasionally I'd get a question or two from the back office to clarify something they needed for permits but that was really it until they needed time from me for scheduling.

Install of my system took about three days with racking and panels being installed on the first. Part of my installation also required replacement of my main breaker panel - something independently seen by another electrician at a later date that noted it was a great panel and the work was done well.

After install was just a matter of waiting until the utility company gave permission to turn system on. Once that came in, Solar Energy World communicated via email and phone call to let me know we were ready to turn on and offered to guide me through powering up the system by flipping a breaker. The email they sent had example photos as well to help guide.

Overall it was a pleasant and streamlined experience with a warranty better than anyone else that quoted me. Given they are a larger regional company I thought they were most likely to be resilient over the years than some smaller and the much larger national companies which were already struggling some.
