Customer feedback reflects a mix of experiences. Positive notes often mention a smooth process where the company handles permits and interconnection, quick installation days, and helpful coordinators. Critical reviews cite communication gaps, door-to-door sales frustrations, project delays, and unexpected electrical or placement changes. Overall ratings indicate many successful installs alongside concerns about scheduling clarity and follow-through.
After signing a PPA and being told that Ion would pay for any updates needs to my electrical panel they quoted me 5000 dollars for me to fix my panel to their liking and finance to add 60 dollars on top of what I was going to pay them per month. Making my savings on switching to solar ZERO.They wanted to move it away from my washer and dryer citing safety issues. However when I had my home inspected last May, the inspector did not cite these issues that they have.I feel lied to and I’ve wasted a bunch of time on them.
Nahkeem stoped by and convinced me to take a look into solar. For the most part was a rather pleasant experience. There was a couple of hiccups but Ion took care of it rather quickly. I will say they are not the cheapest out there. Where they shine, is taking charge of everything, and you not needing to deal with permits and the electric company. They do it all for you. Overall, I found them pleasant to work with, although it took a little longer than I'd hoped to get the system online.
After having Ion acquire us as a customer, they sent more salesmen to our door (again, we already had solar installed from them) - just now (5pm) - knocking the door and ringing the doorbell while we have sleeping 6-month old twins and dogs. Not only did they knock and ring once, hearing the dogs go crazy, they did it a second time. When I came to the door to try and stop them from trying a third, they left telling the other salesmen that ‘then you get the hot-headed homeowner’. Watch the video.Just another predatory solar company. I wish I didn’t buy from them. Don’t make the same mistake.
Ion Solar has been really awesome to work with. Especially Mike Carranza!! He has been amazing to work with and even took care of some things that weren’t necessarily his “job” to do but he graciously helped us out with some other issues we were having and helped get everything resolved. Instal crew was awesome and WOW fast!! Got everything installed in just a few hours. I’d highly recommend Ion Solar and especially Mike Carranza for your solar needs!! And I know they will do just as fantastic a job for you as they have done for me
Where do I begin. Approximately 6 months ago started with solar quote. The sales agent messed up and didn’t include the battery as requested. Then a manager was able to make adjustments and get it included. Then fast forward 2 months later, they show up for install and do not talk to us about anything and do their own thing, resulting in less than optimal batter placement, and SURPRISE, they do NOT have what they need to complete project. Then a couple weeks later, more backholds. After finally a third site visit, we are told solar works. It was in fact not working. Then we find out they did not commission the battery for use and tell us to do it but they have to so a fourth encounter to our home and it is finally working. Downfalls continue, they processed our solar loan on the initial install date and we paid nearly $400 in interest for a non working system due to multiple failures. And we are told basically, sorry and good luck. I have met 5 year olds who run lemonade stands with better business integrity than this business. Next will be to notify the BBB of the injustice. If Ion shows up, simply do NOT engage. You will be your own project manager and get the run around until you are forced to be firm and stand your ground.
