Local residential solar provider serving Denver–Aurora with system design, installation, battery backups, and service calls.
Customers frequently note prompt replies, straightforward timelines, and costs that compare favorably to bigger brands. The company is also mentioned for helping resolve issues on older or third-party systems, including Tesla/SolarCity equipment and whole-home battery integrations.
Denver, Aurora, and nearby Front Range neighborhoods.
Solar PV design and installation, home battery backup systems, detach-and-reset for roof work, troubleshooting and diagnostics of existing solar systems, and assistance with utility interconnection paperwork.
Reviews often mention responsive communication, punctual crews, and pricing that undercuts larger solar companies. Several customers appreciated help with system troubleshooting and detach-and-reset work during roofing. A few comments raised concerns about the level of bid itemization and industry quoting practices. Overall ratings trend positive with many noting smooth installations and clear updates.
Truly a breath of fresh air conducting business with this company. They have been prompt, kind and diligent. Characteristics that are becoming unfortunately rare in modern commerce. Ryan has been exceptional, every step of the process has earned my business for any and all solar dealings I have in the future. We need more businesses ran like this.
The good: They were much less money than the competition. If it weren't for this fact, the rating would be lower. The bad: First, not specific to this company but the solar industry in general. They refused to provide an itemized bid. That is crazy to me; every other contractor I've ever gotten a quote from for other projects itemizes their bids so you can see what you are actually paying for.Tons of issues specific to this company, but they all boil down to communication. Originally was quoted 6-8 week installation timeline. That turned into 4 months. Multiple weeks without hearing anything. They switched out the panels and other equipment that was in the contract without telling me, I had to ask about that. I had to call them out on lowering the price when they couldn't get approval for their proposed system size and had to use fewer panels than proposed. They failed the building department proposal three times for the same reason (which I can see on the building department's website), but again NO communication from Seed regarding this. I had to contact them to find out what was going on. Finally, they tried to claim the install was complete before inspections were all approved and before the production meter was installed. Before the system was usable, they tried to say that it was finished.Basically, if you don't mind having to usher the project along yourself by reading the fine print and being the one to initiate communication, then I'd say this company is worth hiring due to their lower costs. If you expect a contractor to be communicative and forthcoming, then probably look elsewhere.
I could not be happier with my experience. I did a lot of research over a number of years and received many quotes from other bigger name solar companies who wanted to charge easily $10,000 more than what we paid for our solar with Seed Solar. Kyler, Aarin, Peterson and Zen were great to work with. From start to finish, the process took about three months. I would highly recommend Seed Solar to everyone I know looking for solar.
Seed Solar is an excellent company! Everyone we’ve encountered has been nothing less than great! They took care of our solar panel removal and reinstallation when Tesla said they would be 9 months out! They were extremely instrumental in troubleshooting an energy production issue we recently experienced with our Solar City equipment. They analyzed the problem, provided pictures and even sent an email on our behalf explaining the issue to Tesla since Tesla kept declining to send out one of their techs to confirm the problem and order the specific part required. After Tesla received their email, we had a Tesla tech scheduled to come out in less than a week. Tesla basically said it was our problem to get a third party to replace the RSS part. There’s more to this story with Tesla but I want to focus on the amazing assistance and response we received from Seed Solar. They came out a couple of days later, replaced the part, and finally got our energy production issue resolved. We are happy to support this local small business who goes over and beyond to help their customers. We will not hesitate to give Ryan Miller a call should we require solar assistance again in the future.
Seed Solar came out to install a battery backup system. We went with the Tesla PW3 and the install turned out amazing. It's a very clean look and I'm very happy to have power at all times since we've been experiencing power outages.I thought I was only going to be able to back up some loads but they were able to backup my entire house! Will highly recommend these guys to people I know.Ryan was fantastic to work with. He is extremely educated and was very good at communicating with me throughout the process. They knocked out the install very fast and the crew was very professional and knowledgeable. Great job!
