Our 25 Tesla panels were purchased from Parrot in February 2021 @ a cost of $28,688. Installation October 2021. A Tesla Powerwall was purchased in December 2024 @ a cost of $11,800. Installation April 2025. The initial process went well with all involved. In March of this year we started to have problems with the Solar Edge inverter and optimizer. First one panel was out, then 10. Parrot ordered a new inverter and Camden did the install. That repair was done on May 14. Panels still not working. We were told by Sam, text only as she never answers the phone, that Camden was working with Solar Edge to get the system up and running and it just took time and we should be patient. Then we were advised that we needed an optimizer which they said they ordered. We continued to be patient. Finally in July we hired Steworks Solar, who is also a Solar Edge contractor, to come and fix our system. That was $600. Parrot Solar’s contract states they provide warranty service for 5 years. Steworks contacted Solar Edge and was advised on July 10 that Parrot Solar had never ordered the necessary optimizer required to repair our system. On Monday, July 13 we reached out to Sam and requested that she return our call. Of course, she did not. Finally Tommy returned our call and apologized. We requested that the optimizer be ordered and to get back with us within a week with an update. No return phone call, so we called and left a message. Tommy called back on July 21 and said he did not have any info but he would get an update and get back to us. Have not heard from him since. On July 22 we requested the optimizer serial number from Sam and have never received a reply. We contracted Solar Edge directly and requested the optimizer that was ordered by Parrot Solar be sent directly to us so that Steworks could install it and get our system up and running again. The cost of that repair was $624. As much as it pains us to write this review. Trying to get someone on the phone is almost impossible at Parrot Solar. As far as the repair, we’re not sure who is responsible for ordering parts, following up or just reaching out with repair info/updates. If this is Camden’s job, shame on him. Solar Edge parts come from Orlando……just how long does it take to get an optimizer from Orlando to Jacksonville? From May to July…….we think not. Our invoices from Steworks were forwarded to Tommy at Parrot on July 20 requesting reimbursement. Today is July 26 and no response. We signed both of these contracts in good faith and are very disappointed that they completely failed to follow through in a timely manner with our repair, which was in fact, during the five year warranty period as indicated in the contract.
Reviews often highlight neat installation work and knowledgeable technicians, especially on Tesla Powerwall additions and system expansions. Several customers mention responsive communication from specific team members during sales and installation. At the same time, there are recurring reports of extended timelines and difficulty getting updates during permitting or post-install support. Feedback on pricing is mixed-to-positive, while communication consistency is the most cited area for improvement.
Parrot Solar took longer than expected and communicated poorly. Nine panels and an inverter, no storage, took 12.3 months from signing contract to completion. During the installation a lack of communication was frustrating. After completion, my negative review instigated some follow-up communication which inspired me to increase my initial rating and amend my comments. Updates during the project required me to contact Parrot Solar, usually multiple times, before I'd get a response. Many delays were caused by a lack of attention with the city's returns during permitting. Thus far, the proposal exaggerated the power generation by approximately 25-33%. The "economic analysis" provided in the multiple page proposal also ignores the present vs future value of money when the consumer pays tens of thousands of dollars today for savings spread over the next 20 years. Actual production from my system will take 50% longer to break-even than what is in the proposal.
I wanted to take a second and leave a review for Tommy and his team at parent solar. Long story short I worked with Mike in sales over a three year period. Deciding if I wanted to go solar or not Mike was diligent about following up periodically and finally I decided to go with a Tesla power wall. The team was great with the install work was very neat after the power was up and running. I talked to Cameron and decided that it would be beneficial to add the solar part to the deal the whole process and end took about 2 1/2 months with inspections, etc., but I do want to say the experience working with this company was great. Tommy follows up quickly responds to questions and is very engaged with this team the installers that came out were very personable, informative and really helped me understand the end end package and how to use what I purchased. I would highly recommend parent solar thank you to the entire team Chad.
My Parrot Solar experience was exceptional. The process was smooth and done to perfection. I added an additional 2 Tesla Batteries to my system. Mike was extremely responsive and made the contracting process easy. Cam and Cole did an exceptional job at installing the batteries and added an additional sub-panel that could support the system. I was extremely impressed by their professionalism and knowledge in the solar industry. Without hesitance I would give them 5 stars and Parrot Solar would be my go to people in Northeast Florida. Thank you!!!
Best in town for Solar installationI started with Mike last year around July for a 9.7KW solar system with 1 PW3 and 1 PW3 expansion unit. Everything has been great so far. Got my PTO yesterday. So 8 months from start to finish which is normal.Sam , Camden and Cole have been easy to connect with, Prompt on response . So great installer in Jacksonville.Price wise competitive and on par with national averages for price per watts. So no complaints. Would recommend friends and family.
Parrot Solar installed a solar system for my home approximately 2 years ago. The system has not worked more than it has. The most recent issue I was told a part to the inverter was replaced. The battery back-up has no power, the app for the system shows no usage (told needs programming but has not been done), and I have received no credits on my electric bill or reduction in usage, the system is still down.False promises and lack of follow through and communication from the owner Tommy. I paid $25K for a system that has only caused me hassle due to faulty product (Solar Edge is the manufacturer of the system, LG for the battery) or poor installation, not sure which. My only request is for Parrot Solar to get my system back up in a timely manner and communicate. There have been no responses from any of the texts attached and no return phone calls. The photos show no power to the battery and an orange light on the inverter. Also, the app shows no production for the entire year. I’m frustrated and just want what I paid for to work.
