Beware the Champion sliding door handle has a design flaw that causes it to break every few years. Champion has replaced it multiple times for the exact same failure.The "Trap": While they claim a "Lifetime Warranty," they now charge a $130 service fee for every replacement. Over the life of the door, you will end up paying for the door twice just in handle fees.No Alternatives: Because the parts are proprietary, there are no aftermarket handles available. You are forced to pay Champion's high fees forever.Verdict: Think twice before buying. A warranty isn't "lifetime" if you have to pay $130 every couple of years to keep the door functional.
We hired Champion Windows of Bosie to replace 7 windows in our house a couple years ago. Since the beginning of this year, we noticed the window they installed in our bathroom was leaking into the wall causing significant damage. We hired a professional restoration company to open the wall and figure out the problem. The restoration company determined the window was not installed correctly because the original installer did not apply Flashing Tape on all sides of the window. The flashing tape prevents water from getting behind the window and into the walls. We haven’t been able to shower in our master bathroom in 7 months.How did Champion respond? After months of phone calls to customer service, they sent the same installer to our house, and he refused to acknowledge the mistake. Talk about a conflict of interest sending the same installer back that would be financially responsible for correcting his mistake. Where is David Conger? He is the local manager for Champion in Boise. Why wouldn’t he take the time to inspect the window? Ha! You can’t even get a phone call back from him. The guy is MIA. I have gone to their office several times and the doors are locked during normal business hours.We have had two other window companies look at the problem because we now looking to replace other windows not previously done. Both companies quickly determined the bathroom window was not installed correctly and we should push on Champion to honor their warranty.Last Friday, October 3rd, Champion customer service called me to schedule installing a new window in our master bathroom. It was scheduled for today and they confirmed the service yesterday. Finaly they are going to resolve the problem their installer caused. My wife was thrilled and took the day off my work to be home today. It was all LIES. They sent the same installer over. He recognized the house and didn’t bother speaking to my wife. Get this…..Champion did not send him with a new window. They never intended to replace the window today.Windows are expensive. Hire a reputable company that stands behind their warranty and provides excellent customer service. I am offering a $10 reward if you can prove the manager David Conger is alive.
Love our new triple pane windows! Jorge and Irma did a great job of installation. Give them a raise!!! They had to work around a window with brick that we didn't want damaged and did it beautifully. The previous windows were flat on the outside, but these new windows have a narrow frame that surrounds the window. Love the fact that our rooms are cooler now. Thank you guys! Will recommend Champion Windows. Great purchase
From Sam, the salesperson, to Jose and the install team, everyone was super professional and great. I greatly appreciated Jose putting down drop cloth to protect my floor and carpet. They kept me informed along the whole process, and my windows were delivered when they said they would be. I would use them again. Love the windows
