DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! When it comes to Universal Windows Direct, I would not recommend them even in the slightest. We have had so many problems with them, it’s just sad that they call themselves a reputable company with an A+ business rating. After ordering windows to be installed in our house, the company sent someone out to measure and sad it would take up to 12 weeks to get the windows in, for which I understood as they were custom windows. However, this is when the issues began to start. When they called in November to say that the windows were in and my husband scheduled an appointment to get them installed on December 3rd. Then about twenty minutes later, they said they needed to cancel because the permit was not ready, which you would think they would already have known before calling to schedule the appointment. On the 3rd of December, the day the window installers were scheduled for, but canceled, we both got a call that the installation people are outside and no one is home. Of course no one was home, they canceled the appointment. No one told us they were coming and my husband called the people back to ask them what was going on and told them they had cancelled due to the permit not being ready, then asked if it even was indeed ready, which they still did not know. So, he rescheduled for December 16th only for the installers not to show and then called saying they got held up on a prior job and would not be coming. Then he rescheduled again, with them finally showing up only to leave because it was windy, which my husband video taped to show it was not. Plus, the workers did not speak English, so it was difficult to communicate with them. My husband had to call the regional person, because he could not get hold of anyone else. He promised compensation and that Tyson, who oversees the installation, will keep us informed. After all that the installers finally do come and install the windows thanks to my husband getting hold of the regional person, but in the process tore a screen and left the stickers on. My husband had to call many times to get someone back in to fix the screen, since they said it would be replaced, check to make sure the windows were installed properly, and to take the stickers off. He did end up getting hold of someone who was to come January 15th, but then someone called stating the technician was sick and not able to make it. At this point, I just wanted to be done with this company, after all the hassle of everything, it was hard to believe we were having this many issues with them, and that there was only one technician that could come out. On Monday January 19th, someone did come out and fix the screen, check the installation of the windows, and took off the stickers. This was only after my husband once again called many times to get someone to come out and they told him someone would call back and never did. I highly doubt that unless we call, they will be giving us any kind of compensation for all the stress they have put us through. The only saving grace was my husband, who I am so grateful for taking all the time and effort to make sure the windows were installed, which I do not think he or anyone should ever have to do. Overall, I am glad the windows were finally installed; however, I still would NOT recommend this company to anyone. In fact, if someone asked about a company to get windows from, I would tell them to stay far away from this company. I just hope that this review helps someone out there to not go through what we did and to find anybody else to install their windows. I had to leave one star to write this review, but I would never give them even that if it was an option.

Had 8 windows replaced. Salesman, Robert Wolfson, was fantastic. He stopped by job site before completed to make sure everything was alright. The installing crew, Ryan Lilly and Eric, were very professional, polite, answered all questions, the work is perfect. Will use them again. ?? My second replacement: large picture window and sliding glass doors. The installing crew were great. They worked hard and long to remove the picture window that was made of metal, it was original to the house and about 85 years old. Took about 4 hours to remove. Installing the sliding glass door was a lot easier. Love the look of the new window and door. Thanks once again to Universal Windows!!!

If I could do 4.5 I would. Overall, the quality and the installation are both top notch. We had 13 windows installed within 5 hours with 3 men doing the work. Amazingly fast and efficient and my house looks amazing! My only reason for fewer than 5 stars has to do with scheduling. I won't go into detail as the matter is resolved very quickly. Very pleased!
