Got a bid and payed for everthing in advance because it was required. Workmanship and product seem to be good. When installers came out they proceeded to cut metal frame of shower with hacksaw on brand new bedroom carpet. I asked them not to do this and they responded with "ok". Then proceeded to cut the second piece over the same carpet area. When seeing this I told them to stop or pack up and leave. The one guy told me nothing would get on the carpet. I inspected the are finding metal shavings all in the carpet. I then called and asked to speak with a manager and was told they would contact me. Still no response two days later.
I’m the second owner of a home that was finished being built by D.R. Horton in February 2018. The finish work is very poor and I recently noticed the bottom of the MB shower door was leaking.There was a United Mirror and Glass LLP sticker on the door and was installed 1/16/2018. I tried to get assistance from DR Horton in the past, but they wouldn’t give me any information for the house since I was not the original owner. I called United Mirror and glass several times and keep getting transferred to a different location.I finally got through to someone in the Austin location which is not listed and they said a Mrs. Kay would call me back when she returned from lunch. It’s been over 24 hours, so I called the Austin location and they said they would connect me to Mrs. Kay at a different location.Mrs. Kay came on the phone and I explained that I was just wanting to know the part number and place to order the shower door sweep.Mrs. Kay was very unprofessional and very rude. She stated that she looked for the installation documents yesterday and couldn’t find them.Mrs. K them told me that their company did not install the MB shower door even though there is still their company installation sticker on it.UPDATE: I found the exact shower door sweep (bottom seal). After reading the manufacturer instructions the seal was installed backwards originally. I guess that’s a good reason the door leaked onto the bathroom floor. No more issues, but now have to repair the side walls that had gotten wet. I hope their installers have better training and can read instructions.
