Our church hired Northside to tear out old carpet & sand & stain the hardwoods in the sanctuary underneath. It was a big job & they handled it with professionalism & care, going above & beyond our expectations. As a church the timeline was especially important, & they managed to complete the job in less than 2 weeks. I purchased an older home and the floors desperately needed to be replaced. After researching and receiving 3 quotes, I chose Northside.There was a mixture of hardwood and carpet in the house and I decided to do LVP throughout the downstairs and a mix of LVP and carpet upstairs. Mark was my main point of contact and said they could finish the job before we moved in, which they did.Mark called me the day the work started and said there was a problem. When they started ripping up the hardwood, they found hardwood underneath. Since we were going with LVP on the first floor, they would have to use leveler in areas so that the floors would be level and that our bill may go up because they had not anticipated using leveler. I agreed.I had a deep clean before we moved in, at a price of $420. The cleaner texted me and asked if I had seen the house after the floors were replaced. I had not. She told me the entire house was extremely dusty and the bathtubs were really bad, like the contractors had mixed something in them.When I got to the house and walked into the rooms, there was a noticeable incline in two of the rooms, like you were walking up a ramp. There are areas in the living room, dining room, and guest room (all areas that previously had carpet). After speaking to Mark about the complete mess and the different levels of the floor, he said he would make it right.Mark called me to say that he would take off the $420 for the cleaning bill. I explained to him that was fair for the mess that was made, however, that did not fix my floors. He and the owner came to the house and the owner agreed that the office and the spare bedroom were not acceptable and they would pull the LVP back up and put more leveler.The work in those 2 rooms were completed in a day. The contractors were not happy with me, as Mark told them the $420 they deducted from my bill would be coming out of their pay.We had a box of LVP that I had asked for as extra, in case an area needed to be replaced in the future. The workers used this product so I don’t have any spare planks.Mark called asking for the second installment of the bill, with no additional discount. There are still places on the first floor that have bubbles and dips.I paid $19,000 for new floors throughout the house and every day I walk on the LVP and am reminded of the expensive mistake I made. It is disheartening.
