I was originally on my way to Home Depot in Irondequoit to purchase flooring. Before committing, I noticed Bayside Flooring right across the street and decided to take a look. I am exceptionally glad I did.

AJ was absolutely phenomenal to work with. From the moment I walked in, he was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in helping me find the right flooring. Not just making a sale. He took the time to explain options, differences in quality, durability, and pricing in a way that was clear and honest.

The selection at Bayside Flooring was far better than what I was seeing at big-box stores, and the level of service wasn’t even comparable.

AJ made the entire process easy, stress free, and actually enjoyable. I walked out feeling confident in my decision and excited about my project which is something I can’t say has ever happened at a chain store.

If you’re considering flooring in the Irondequoit area, do yourself a favor and stop at Bayside Flooring first. Ask for AJ. You’ll understand immediately why this place stands out.

Bayside flooring originally put the carpet in 2000. I got the pet friendly warranty because I have a dog. Unfortunately the dog did throw up on the rug it wasn't even a year old. Could not get the stain out. They said to get it professionally clean so I did and they were unable to get out the stain as well. So in 2001 they did do a reinstall of just the living room carpet. Fast forward and 2024 put the claim in said that there's stains on my rug and I sent pictures. After that it took me forever to get a hold of the warranty company engineering flooring and the lady was very rude. She said because I didn't have it professionally cleaned and I said you didn't even ask if I had the receipt? I do and it was clean professionally. She said well it doesn't say it was clean by hot water extraction so you voidedyour warranty. I advised her I can call the company and make sure it was clean that way and get her documentation and not to please jump to the conclusion that things weren't done.. so I got the receipt all the documentation that it was cleaned by hot water extraction by professional cleaners. She said nothing how bad and gross the carpet looks with all the brown spots on it. She stated that you voided the contract because the cleaning place that you hired use that shampooer. She's like your contract is voided there's nothing more that I can do. I had asked for a supervisor to call me back that never happened. I called back I got her voicemail I let her know I don't see anything in the warranty that the cleaning company has to use a specific kind of cleaning equipment just that it's cleaned with hot water extraction which it was. So I did reach out to Rich at Bayside that's where I got the carpet and I told him this claim has been avoided. Talking with the cleaning company they said actually those weren't stains those are wear marks on your carpet all over. I reached out to Rich said I wanted to open a new claim that these are wear marks and it wasn't caused by anything but just walking on it everyday kind of thing and nothing more than that. He never called me back. I sent a text message advising but still no response back. So the cleaning company so there's no way they can avoid it using that piece of equipment they use that all the time and they charge more money for it to get the dirt out and it works really good. I just think at this point that rich doesn't want to be bothered he figured he replaced One Carpet and that's enough. I'm sorry but that's not enough my carpet looks like it's 15 years old it's so nasty looking Brown all over. You can only see a little bit of light gray when lifted up 1 small rug where I would put my slippers on. It goes all the way up the stairs also it just looks so bad to the point where I don't even want to have anyone over to my house. Richard really be ashamed of himself leaving me with a carpet that looks this awful. I would love for him to come see it himself I mean it looks terrible in pictures but he could come over the house and look at it and tell me that he'd be happy the way that that carpet looks and it's only 4 years later! Definitely don't stand by their warranty I would not recommend getting a carpet from Bayside flooring.

SCAM ARTIST STAY AWAY. Hired for carpet install, 2 bedrooms no seams. Easy job, about $2k. Not great pricing but not horrible. I removed old carpeting and pad and fully prepped the floors for them, I cleared this arrangement with owner ahead of time. The deal was I’d get a credit for doing that work off of the estimate. However, even though I told them not to take the old carpets, they drove off with them and I didn’t notice until after they left. So they only gave me $120 of the $240 back, ridiculous. But worst part is when owner came to measure we agreed no seams, when installer came we confirmed no seams but….. Installer cut the carpet wrong and now I have a seam that’s highly visible in one of the 2 bedrooms. Owner came and looked at it himself after work was complete and again said there should have been no seam. His solution he gave me $60 off of my almost $2k bill. SCAM ARTIST STAY AWAY

These guys were great until I had a problem. 8/2020, I had Bayside come measure for a floor in my kitchen remodel. I purchased an Armstrong Pryzm floor. It was marked for clearance, but it was a very heavy duty floor. Paid in full at install, 11/2020. I questioned why they were not putting anything under the flooring at install. It was stated by the installer that this floor is very thick, requires cutting with a saw, not a razor, and it was designed to go over almost anything. I'm paraphrasing a little bit. I should mention, the subfloor, pre install, was mistaken for the installed floor by friends; It looked very good. However, there was some "cupping" to the sub floor- there were high and low spots on the boards. As heavy as the new floor is, the seam landed in a spot that it cracked after around 3 years. It may not look so bad in the pictures, but it is very noticeable to me, and in bare feet it feels as if you're going to cut your foot, and you could. There is quite a sharp edge to it. You can go online and read that this floor has a warranty of minimally 5 years, longer in residential installs. It shouldn't have broken. Which leads me back to the install. I went back to the store twice. After the second time, they came and looked at my floor and told me they'd get back to me. No word. The third time I was told that whoever was going to look at the floor was going to be on vacation until the 8th of March 2024. Well that was a couple weeks ago. No word. In the meantime, I also called Armstrong, and they were bought out by another company that only bought the name and none of the existing warranties. Bottom line, there is no service after the sale.
