Tamalpais Hardwood Floors

I never really write reviews, but in the case of Tamalpais Floors I’m willing to share with you a note I sent them after their masterful installation of my beautiful new floors they helped me select. It read:

“I wanted to let you guys know what a pleasure your crew was to work with. Top notch, super friendly and professional and with really good taste and opinions on all the little things that came up along the way. Sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye to Silvestri, or get him in this picture, but that guy is exceptional and obviously really cares about everything being just right. We kinda miss them!

I also want to thank you for your advice Dermot, from the direction of the herringbone pattern, to how far to go leveling the family room floor and also your suggestions and help with my closet cabinets. The guys cut 1/8” ply sheets to size for me and I painted and hammered them in with about a thousand nails.

And thanks to you David for your 2 year (?) stretch of patience as we bellyached over what floors to go with. We loved your down-to-earth un-“selly” advice on everything and we feel 100% with where we landed!

Tamalpais floors has many years of experience laying specialty hardwood floors. I was looking for European Oak with a very natural finish. Dermot and David had a lot of patience explaining all the options so I could visualize what the end result could look like. The staircase was our biggest challenge. Nothing is square and we had to cover parts of the wall before a glass railing could be put up. They send us their best carpenters to do the job and I am super happy with the end result. Tamalpais Hardwood Floor are real craftsman when it comes to flooring.

Super helpful and professional organization. They were great in helping me fine tune the decisions on the final product, and the two men who installed the flooring (which had --I suspect most homes have--some squirelly floor details) did a fantastic job! Everyone who comes to visit will now go shoeless or wear shoe protection booties! Definitely worth the money.

Hands down, the best flooring company in The bay area. Amazing quality work, pricing, customer service and best team to work with! As an interior designer, i comfotably rely on Tamalpais Floors! I admire and always recommend them for their quality work, broad product line and experience. My clients are always happy and satisfied with their work :)

Tamalpais crew, Herson and Isidro, were very professional. They did an outstanding job for about 2000 sf of floor space. It was quite challenging, as they had to deal with irregular shape corners. They worked hard and performed their task with love and attention to detail and always with a big smile!
My hardwood floors look amazing. No more wall to wall carpets.
I would hire them again and highly recommend them to anyone that needs to have
their floors very professionally done.
