Service Technician Talon Stuart Came out 9 AM Saturday morning. Went right to work on my noisy LiftMaster garage door Opener. Only to find My 10-year-old Unit was working completely normal . Just vibrating with age.So my service call was short and sweet and the price was right !
Garage spring broke on a Friday night (when they seem to always break). Called Overhead at 9:00 Saturday morning, and spoke to a very polite receptionist. I explained my situation and she told me she would gladly reach out to a tech to see if they could fit me in. She immediately told me yes and that the tech would reach out before he arrived.Talon, the tech, called and he told me that he was 15 mins away. Talon arrived, assessed the situation and immediately got to work. After a few mins, Talon showed me where my cables were dangerously close to failing also. After 10 mins, he showed me a repaired garage door spring and cables. The pricing was very reasonable for a weekend service.I highly recommend Overhead and give the highest compliment to their tech,Talon Stuart.Thank you Overhead for giving the level of service I received.Neil Chryst
I submitted an inquiry back in August of 2025 to get a quote for a new garage door and opener. After working with Alec Huss (son of the owner Michael Huss) we selected a garage door and opener that we were happy with. We were told it would be a 4-6 week lead time for the install and hauling away the old door and opener. It was a little on the side of 7-8 weeks before we were able to schedule the install. I had to follow up with Alec to see when the door would be in.The door and opener were installed and most of the top panels with glass inserts were cracked and had a dent, and the bottom section had a dent in it as well. They said they took pictures and would send to the manufacturer for warranty claim. Again, I had to follow up with Alec again to coordinate when the new sections would be installed. So it was about a month later that Bill called to schedule the warranty sections. The bottom panel was great and had no defects. The top panel this time did not have any dents or cracks but one of the window panes was crooked. The installers were the ones to notice and I appreciate them pointing that out.So at the end of November of 2025 I called and spoke with Alec about a discount off of the door and install total. He stated that he would be able to do $100 of of the total of over $3,000 (only about a 3% discount). Stating "we don't manufacture the doors."We corresponded back and forth and essentially I told Alec that would not cut it. The negotiation ended with getting around 15% off of the total cost. I was happy with this. And we moved forward expecting the door to be in before Christmas.I reached out again to coordinate with Alec and was told at the beginning of DECEMBER now (Dec. 4th), that it would be two weeks before the new section would be in. On January 14th I reached out to Alec via email to inquire about when we would see the new section installed. He responded and stated it would be another TWO WEEKS. So I called and spoke with Alec and he stated that the manufacturer was delayed over the holidays. Fine, however, it would have been nice to get that communication from Alec.I informed Alec that if the new section was not installed in that two week timeframe that they would not have to worry about replacing the top section but they would also not be getting the rest of the deposit. That I would just go through Overhead Door directly myself.Frustrating, as most of the headache here would have been mostly resolved if I was not having to chase down Alec to follow up and if I was actually kept in the loop as to when, or why there were delays along the way.I called back today to ask to speak with the owner. Tabitha answered and was kind and listened, offered to send an email to the owner as they are out of the country and also offered to send me to their voicemail as well. I received a call back from Alec a little while later and was told that they would not be invoicing me for the remaining balance (MEANING A 50% discount off of the total cost), but they will make sure the new section is installed without defect. I informed Alec that I would still like to speak to the owner (his father myself) which was met with Alec telling me that he has been in detailed communication with his father about what has been going on. Again, great, but I would still like to speak with his father. The excuse I was given every step of the way is "we are at the mercy of the manufacturer." Meaning, Overhead Door company. Frankly I grew pretty irritated by that excuse. As a distributor and retailer/installer, that issue does not fall on the customer, it falls on the business. So don't use that as the excuse. If Overhead is so hard to deal with for warranty claims, then rename the business and go with a different manufacturer. This is not how you run a business.
Over a month ago I had my garage door opener replaced. The installers only objective was to install it as fast as possible and go to the next job. The opener works ok but lookes terrible. It's not level - I'll fix it myself. The outside keypad was crocked - I fixed it.The inside wall switch was only held by one screw - I fixed it.Should have gone to a big box store, bought one and installed it myself (I've done it before) and saved a lot of money.
Be short and sweet. Fixed a manufacturer warranty on a genie garage door opener. Derek Shields was the employee that came out and his knowledge and professionalism was unmatched, he went above and beyond! Nothing but great things to say about this company and employees!! Keep up the good work!
