I had A1 Garage Door Service come out and paid about $155 for the service call. The technician was polite and professional, but the experience felt more focused on full replacement packages rather than discussing repair options.

For context, I have a two-car garage with one large door that still functions. The technician checked the balance and said it felt around 25 pounds to lift, but no specific broken parts were identified. I was hoping to start with smaller repairs like replacing springs or rollers.

He also mentioned the opener motor may have experienced extra wear if the door had been heavy in the past, which I understand. However, I would have preferred trying to improve the door balance first and then seeing how the opener performed before replacing everything.

Instead, the options presented were full rebuild packages, with the lowest estimate being over $3,500 and higher options going above $4,000.

Just sharing my experience so other homeowners know what to expect when getting an estimate.

This guy is a hard worker and is a great front for your company.. He told me when I asked him how he liked working for A1, and most people will say the usual oh it's nice, or I hate it- but he was saying how he loves working for this company cause they know how to treat their customers, and he's 100 percent correct from what I experienced today..
