Amazing home buying experience! Team was extremely attentive, helpful, and were patient with our questions and negotiations. The team was really focused on getting us into a home, not just a house. Everyone from the sales team, builder, and warranty were customer/buyer focused. I am one that is extremely speculative when it comes to developers, and the Empire team is truly an exception in the space.
Overall, our experience with Covington was pretty good. We are a military family and went through the entire home build process virtually. On top of being virtual, we had an 18 month old daughter, and they broke ground on our house the week I gave birth to our son, and were preparing for our 2nd cross country move in 2 years. So we had a lot going on. Even with all that, I was surprised with how easy this process was with Covington. They did a great job of keeping us updated on progress, timelines and issues. When we did need to set up virtual meetings, they worked around our schedule and answered all of our questions honestly.We were initially looking in the Banning Lewis area, but ultimately decided to build in the Rolling Hills Ranch neighborhood in Meridian. When we decided to build in rolling hills instead, that team honored the deals/discounts that the Banning Lewis team had given us and the choices we had made about the layout of the house. It was nice to not have to go through all that again. Even the design team worked with us when we decided we wanted to another meeting to change some of the design elements we decided on. It's hard picking stuff out virtually. You're not really sure how all of the stuff you're picking is gonna go together. But with the help of their design team, we made some great choices and our home turned out beautiful! When we were finally able to see it in person, we were both impressed and relieved by the craftsmanship!You sometimes read home builder reviews and people have some real horror stories. I am glad that has not been our experience. Some stuff has been addressed through warranty.Even minor cosmetic stuff they have fixed for us. We have been in the house just over a year now, and still love it!
A wonderful experience start to finish. Everyone was very professional and responsive to our needs. We are very happy with our beautiful new home.
They say that moving is one of the highest stressors in life. It’s right up there with getting married, new job, having a baby. Covington did a great job in guiding me through the process of having a house built.They called every week to keep me posted, accompanied me to tour the house whenever I wanted, answered any questions I had. I’m not going to say there were no bumps in the road, because that’s how life is. But Covington always came through with a good solution to any problem I foresaw. Kudos to realtor, Lori, for always following up with my numerous questions! Kudos to Taylor’s very apt managing of the building team. I feel very lucky to have such a beautiful house.
All in all we had a great experience with Covington Homes! Some things didn't line up like they should at all and we had to keep fighting we them with no response and fix it ourselves as you can see below. Still one to fix is the vent in kitchen. They show floor plan models and say they are the same but when you get yours, it is not the same! Humidifier was even hooked up and pipes just hanging so how are these passing inspection as done just to get to us to close?
