We recently moved to Ohio and were set against buying a new build home because we watched too many HGTV shows where Owners had terrible experiences and problems with newly build homes. Additionally, when we looked on BBB we would find hundreds of complaints against the Builders.

However, when we researched Oberer Homes we didn’t find any complaints on BBB. We then asked people who had already bought and moved into the Community of homes we were considering and they were all complimentary. The typical answer we got was, theses are not custom made homes but they are the best quality you can get for new built homes.

Our personal experience supports those comments. The first person we got to interact with was Christy Compton who is the selling agent for Oberer. We felt she was extremely honest and when she said she would do something- she did it. She didn’t promise things she couldn’t deliver and only told us truth and didn’t try to sell us something we didn’t need, want, or desire. She never tried to upsell us and actually helped us make decisions that were right for us. We’ve come to trust her very much. She is a person of integrity.

The next person we interacted with was Ben. He is the overall Project Manager for all the homes built by Oberer in our community. He has also been very truthful, honest, and a man of integrity.

We will not say we haven’t had any problems with our new home but we believe all the items we have found and brought to the attention of Christy and Ben will be fixed to our satisfaction. We are still in our 30-day after closing period and we are hopeful that all items will be completed within that timeframe.

If anyone wants a quality new build home we suggest they consider Oberer homes - particularly those which are sold through Christy and where the homes are built under the supervision of Ben.

We have been in our Oberer home since October 2022 and are very happy we chose to build with Oberer. Over the years, we have lived in several different states and have built new homes four different times. We had looked at several builders during our search for a new home in Dayton and kept coming back to Oberer as our favorite. Building with Oberer was the best experience we have had with building a new home.

Christie Crompton, our Sales Consultant, was great throughout the entire process and made every aspect of the process easy. We were living out of state when the home was built and Christie kept us updated on the build progress every step of the way.

We were also very pleased with Victor Rooney, who is over the Warranty work. He was responsive, was great at communicating with us and lining up the appropriate building trades, when needed, and did excellent work.

Our overall experience has been great.

Oberer built our home at Washington Trace in summer of 2024. I worked with Christie C. in conjunction with my Realtor. Christie is professional, friendly to work with, and did amazing job working us through home-building process-from lot selection to selecting our home design, materials, appliances, fixtures, and etc. It was pain-free. The best part of Oberer Homes is that they allow custom-design/built homes. You have control over the homes you want, the designs and its looks. From start to finish, they delivered our home on-time. They give you warranty, 90-day and 11 months inspections after you close. They will do repairs if needed. Overall, I was very pleased with our home. I would highly recommend Oberer to future homeowners.

I had no experience with building a house before I connected with Oberer, so I had a lot of anxiety about what was in store for me and what to expect.

I have nothing but great things to say about Oberer homes and the entire team that I worked with. And I absolutely LOVE my new Oberer home. It is beautiful!!

From start to finish, Christie Crompton was incredible to work with. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable about the building process, and guided me every step of the way, but she was always super patient with my questions, and always responded quickly to e-mails and phone calls. One of the best parts is that Oberer was super receptive to making some modifications to their existing floorplans, so I was able to customize my house to my needs and wants. I loved that about them!! Other builders I had checked with would not do this.

The construction project managers: Alex and Ben were also gems to work with. Both Alex and Ben were very patient with my numerous questions, very knowledgeable and helpful, and super responsive to requests.

Once my house was finished and we closed, that was not the end of my interactions with Oberer. After we closed on the house I communicated with Victor Rooney, (quality assurance program ), about questions I had about different things in the house. Victor is also super kind, patient and responsive, so I never and still don't feel like I am left on my own if any issues come up. I feel like I can always count on someone from Oberer to help me if something comes up with the house.

If you are looking to build a house, I highly recommend Oberer!! They will make what could be a super stressful experience, into a very positive experience.

They will be there for you every step of the way, even after the house is finished.

Hannah Smart on Oberer Homes

Overall we had a fantastic experience with Oberer! Christie, Ben and Alex were all so kind, accommodating and helpful during the process. We have a beautiful home that is well built and hasn’t had any trouble. My only complaint is that the water pressure on this side of Montgomery County is not very good and we were not made aware during the building process. Although I realize that it is not the builder’s fault, I wish we were just made aware before our final walk-through
