My wife and I have just about completed our home with Red Door thanks to the hard work and efforts through the team, Devon as a sales rep, Erica for color design and fixtures, and of course Rick Riickola as the boots on the ground.Rick has been amazing, we initially had many changes to the design of the house that Rick was easily able to accommodate and he even guided us through other ideas and we never even considered before but absolutely love now. Every step of the way Rick has been very upfront about the costs, encouraged us to visit and point out anything we saw that needed to be corrected, and was instrumental in helping us get our home to the finish line ahead of schedule and under budget despite all the changes orders and custom modifications we threw at him.We highly recommend using Red Door of East TN's team for a custom home build, especially if you already like one of their designs and want to make alterations. They will work with you, tell you what will or will not work, and give you a decent budget estimation.
My husband Travis and I had been looking for about 3 years for someone to help us build our dream home. We had no luck finding anyone that was within our budget until we found Red Door Homes of East TN. They have been absolutely amazing helping us with our journey. Everyone we have dealt with has been very informative, they kept us updated on everything that was happening with our home. Our project manager Rick Riickola has been absolutely fantastic! My wife and I used Red Door homes to build our forever home. They were very patient with us, as we had several hoops to jump through, for a little over a year before we could get the final approval to build on the land we were getting. Thomas Tedford was our sales representative and he is as first class as they come. During the long process before we could get started he would periodically check in on us and see where we were with Knox county. He was never pushy or tried to sell us on upgrades. He understood our budget and went out of his way to keep us there. Once we started the build process we had some delays getting utilities to our property, but they were no fault to red door as kub was a nightmare to work with. Brad with Red door handled all of that and was constantly pushing KUB to get on with the project. Our project manager was Brian Kern and he’s as good as they come. I work in the construction industry and deal with a lot of project managers and Brian competes with the best. He is very detailed, on time, runs a very clean jobsite, and finds ways to make what you thought was good even better. We could not be happier with the home they built for us. They kept us informed, on budget and on time. We can honestly say that they became friends to us during the process not just a company that we hired to build for us.
We decided to build a home and chose Red Door after interviewing a few other contractors. We had a wonderful experience with them… from Sales (Thomas) to our site manager (Brett) and the post completion list that we had to address (Derek).. the team at Red Door have been great to work with. Always communicating timely, Brett would upload notes and photos daily so we could keep tabs on progress. We had a cellular site camera where we could monitor who was on the job and it was rare if someone wasn’t working on the house. We were happy to have the option to upgrade and we did add quite a bit of upgrades to suite our needs. Overall our experience was wonderful, went smoothly from start to finish (broke ground in Summer 2023 and received CO in April 2024). Our appraisal came in more than we spent to build (Yay) and we are so glad we decided to take the plunge and build our dream home. We would recommend Red Door to anyone looking to build your forever home.
The office personnel was very helpful and allowed my wife and I to bring ideas of what we wanted in our home to the planning table. We also really enjoyed working with our project manager Bryan Davis. With having a construction background myself it was nice to have a project manager that didn't give me the run around on things and get me informed on the project. I appreciate that they take pride in their workmanship and even during COVID-19 Era they didn't sacrifice quality for quantity.
