We came upon our beautiful home in a mostly pre-built state and we love it very much. "Freddy" was always very fair with us and made sure that we got all of our post-sale (warranty) issues got taken care of. He never pushed back on any of our requests, and was good about making sure we were happy with everything. I don't understand the other poor ratings here. Freddy was occasionally hard to reach quickly, but we never assumed that we were his only priority, especially after the sale was over. I suspect that the complainers may not have treated Freddy with mutual respect. Whatever the case, we had a great experience and love our house.
I read some of these reviews and I have to post this ....I have been in the home building industry for over 20yrs. I have my own Post construction cleaning plus my 3 sons and husband are trim carpenters so i feel I have some knowledge.I have learned which builders to trust and the ones that put up a quality house and which builders I wouldn't go near ( sub jumping, late on payments short cuts messy etc.) JMF is one I would HIGHLY RECOMEND to use. Mike has kept the same subcontractors ( Electricians, plumbers, siders, painters , trimmers etc...) for years which in this business says alot about the builder. He trys to make the buliding process seamless as possible for the homeowner, he's honest and trust worthy and puts up a quality home.
I've known Mike (Owner of JM Fredrick Customer Homes) for 30 years. I worked side by side with him when we were both younger. He recently built a home for a friend of ours that allowed us to reconnect. I'd call it a high-end home, and it was very well done.Shortly after I was in that home I had someone laying carpeting in my home. Nice young man doing a very good job. While he was installing it I asked him if he paid any attention to the workmanship in new homes he was working in. And if so, did anyone stand out that he liked, or that he'd avoid? Unexpectedly the homes he said he was most impressed with were Fredrick Custom Homes. He went on to say that he felt the workmanship was well above average creating his opinion. As we talked I learned he didn't even know who the Mike was - owner of Fredrick Custom Homes. He didn't know I knew Mike from years ago. He simply made the observation that as a sub contractor visiting new constructions homes, Mike's stood out from a workmanship standpoint.I've built two homes in my life and spoken to many others who have built their own. By and large I've learned that as the buyer you need to watch for all of the corners that get cut when you aren't looking. That just isn't who Mike is. He's going to do the job right, whether you are looking or not.If I were building a home, Mike would be the first person I'd call to begin working on the process.
Freddy’s flexibility and willingness to work with us on specifically what we needed was exceptional. He communicated progress regularly and responded quickly to any questions/concerns. Plus, he finished on time!Others have commented how stressful their building process was - ours with Freddy was basically stress-free.Highly recommended.
I have been in the real estate business for 15 years and have yet to find a builder that is more dedicated than JM Frederick Custom Homes. If you are looking for someone who is on site and has fantastic managerial skills, then Mike "Freddy" is your builder. Highly recommend.
