I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with Veneto Homes in the same industry for years, and I can’t recommend them enough! They are a family-run business deeply rooted in the Edmonton community, and they show such commitment to quality and service. My favorite part — their homes are originals! Never cookie cutter, yet they still feel so timeless.

I can tell they truly care about their customers, and they’re very real — so kind and approachable and always trying to give back. They’re actively involved in the local community, supporting organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton. The charity Lottery Homes they build in support of the organization are always so stunning!

Highly recommend!

I've had the privilege of working with Veneto homes for the past eight years and I confidently say they go above beyond for their clients. Their team is knowledgeable and do not cut corners. They belive in doing things right the first time and have the best and most reputable trades in the industry. If I was building a home today it would be with Vento Homes.

Terrible Experience with Veneto Homes – Avoid at All Costs
Rating: ?????

Building our home with Veneto Homes was frustrating and disappointing. We have built three homes before, so we understand normal stresses, but this experience went far beyond that. We strongly advise anyone considering Veneto to do thorough research.

1. Initial Impressions
The initial friendliness and attentiveness during house viewings in 2021 were promising, and the showhome workmanship was immaculate. Adrianna spoke of long-standing relationships with her trades, but our job was the first for many of them. Delays and communication errors early on signaled issues to come.

2. Communication Issues
Responses to emails and messages were sporadic, leaving critical issues unaddressed. Adrianna is personable at first, but stops communicating when serious concerns arise. For example, our paid dual-zone furnace was never installed; we were not consulted, and a single-zone was installed instead.

3. Financial Concerns
Allowances were insufficient, forcing us to spend thousands on upgrades. Billing errors and hidden costs required meticulous monitoring on our part.

4. Timeline Delays
Deadlines were consistently missed, extending our build to 18 months, adding thousands in extra bank interest, stress from storing belongings, and temporary living arrangements. Wrong materials, incorrect trusses, and a bowed front door further delayed completion.

5. Management & Customer Service
Project management was poor. Issues raised were dismissed or ignored. Post-possession care was nearly nonexistent, and we had to fight for everything.

6. Construction Quality
Trades often had wrong plans, and numerous deficiencies remained even 11 months post-possession. They forgot to add power to the basement island despite multiple reminders, requiring concrete to be chipped out and careful oversight to prevent damage to the heated slab.

7. Professionalism Concerns
Adrianna and her sister Anna often failed to follow through. Semi-solid interior doors were ordered, but half remained hollow-core. Our emails were ignored for months, with no resolution. Other issues included poorly finished drywall, bent hinges, warped doors, insufficient backsplash, and cold floor vents. Conduit for our electric gate was improperly installed, requiring costly rework. Windows have cracked beyond warranty periods.

Summary
There are many more issues, but Google limits review length. Despite a promising start, Veneto Homes’ communication lapses, financial mismanagement, delays, poor construction quality, and unprofessional behavior made this build frustrating. We had to fix many issues ourselves.

In the end, we do have a house, and it’s growing on us, but the process was not a pleasant experience. We started this endeavor in 2022 and have only just had our final visit—it has been agonizingly long. We strongly regret building with Veneto Homes and do not recommend them.

Cory Novosel on Veneto Homes

We built with them and it has been a very difficult and disheartening journey.

Two years and one month for a 2100 sq foot bungalow. The verbal and written contract said they would be done in one year.

THE CONTRACT HAD LEGAL LOOPHOLES THAT GIVES THEM AS LONG AS THEY WANTED TO BUILD ,,, DESPITE WRITING AND VERBALLY COMMITTING THEY WOULD BE DONE IN A YEAR.

IMAGINE PAYING AN EXTRA YEARS RENT AND STORAGE INSTEAD OF PAYING YOUR OWN MORTGAGE. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!!!

Currently we have a 50 page deficiency list with Progressive New Home Warranty. This was Venetos choice of warranty provider… we will see how this goes,

We literally have unpainted doors a year after moving in.

BUYERS BE WARE,,,,
READ YOUR CONTACT CAREFULLY

Now that we have filed a claim with Progressive New Home Warranty all services are suspended until review. ( Even though Veneto promised to repair many existing issues).

We are currently backed into a corner and don’t want to see others in our situation.

OUR CONTRACT WAS ALSO UNDERVALUED ON ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING AND LUMBER!
THIS COST US 10’s OF THOUSANDS MORE THAN THEY SAID. ,,, TOTAL MANIPULATION
( they make you use their inflated suppliers for plumbing and electrical. ) the budget allowed for pot lights, additional lighting , plumbing and lumber was brutally low.

We were building a luxury home and they new that. ( we went through their show home repeatedly ) they sold us a budget for a cookie cutter

WATCH OUT FOR THE LEGAL TRICKS. AND THE DECEPTIVE SALES.

Brutal communication, terrible management, and bad craftsmanship throughout the entire process.

CHOOSE A DIFFERENT BUSINESS.

My wife and I are professionals and we never want to bad mouth a business but these people are off the charts bad.

Despite the financial loss and stress they created,,,,,

This was our dream home!
They sucked all the joy out of the experience.
