Comfort First has been taking care of our heating and cooling for years, Josh B came out today to perform our spring maintenance. He did an excellent job, very professional, probably the most thorough cleaning our AC have had.
Absolutely the worst experience. My downstairs furnace went out. The first technician came by and told me there was a small crack in my furnance and recommended I get a new one. However, this wasn’t the reason it stopped working. There was something that “flipped” which stopped it to work and he reset it. So the my unit could continue to work but he couldn’t turn my thermostat back on because of their recommendation due to the small crack. I turned it back on and got some carbon monoxide sensors to be safe. A month later the unit stops working again. It was before a big storm so I decided I would just get the new furnace instead of continuing to deal with the old one. On Jan 22 the new unit was installed. On Jan 24 it stopped working. They came out and worked on it for a few hours and got it working. I was told someone would need to come back out and change the drain pipe. Jan 29th another individual came out to do final “repairs” to get it ready for the inspection. Feb 2nd - the unit stopped working again. Right after the biggest storm Charlotte has seen in decades - 9” of snow. I woke up to 56 degrees in the house. The on call repairman called and is not able to make it out due to the storm (understandably). This is the worst experience I have ever had. Four individuals having been out to my house and i am still without a working furnace.
Thanks to Alvin (Sales Manager) and Dustin (Service Manager) for rectifying my 2 year situation that should've been resolved a year and half ago. Blessings and shout outs to both of these men for standing on business and making a bad situation great! I'm greatly appreciative for both of these men and they are truly a valuable asset to this company. I wish there were more of these folks out there when it comes to providing quality service. If so, my situation wouldn't have been one.Another shout out to Dustin, he was not only personable but forthcoming with feedback and asked what was needed in addition which I greatly appreciated that more than he knows!! Thanks to Comfort First making my situation right and I have no problems referring these two men whenever I have the opportunity to do so.Thanks again you, Alvin and Dustin, you rock!!
I'm starting with 3 stars but could go down depending on the next visit.. We were caught off guard when our AC went out and had to make a quick decision to have it replaced. We chose Comfort First because we had a service contract with them on our previous unit and the pricing was competitive. The sales guy made the process easy and payments, after a hefty deposit were affordable. Now to the issues.... Install seemed to go great.. after installers left we realized the air filter tray had been broken, air filter installed upside down, damage to walls (recently painted prior to the install). Within a month of install the tape used to close the gaps between the sheet metal began to come away from the unit allowing all the cold air to blow into the laundry room and we realized the installers broke the control board cover on the side of the unit.. it still continues to fall off. A service call was placed to have the unit resealed and the panel cover replaced, they came out and looked the unit over and stated they would be back for the repairs, so another day taken off work for the repair to be made. We will see how that goes.. If the subs are the issue, maybe in house installers should be considered. I hope the install does not reflect how the future services is going to be.
Excellent service from Adam on getting my quote and resolving any issues/questions I had. Responded quickly and was very informative. Not giving 5 stars because the install had some issues with cleanliness. My stuff was moved around and not placed back neatly, trash was left in the area, wires exposed, and trash dumped into my toilet.
