After several quotes-we ended up going with Southport Madison to do a full furnace/AC replacement. They were so kind, professional and intentional with their work. They worked diligently to get our heat up and running as quickly as possible. After the work was completed, they cleaned up and made it look better than it was before they got there. Thank you guys for helping us during the middle of winter! We will highly recommend your services to those around us!
Jacob and Ryan were a great team. They kept me informed with details on all the work they completed throughout the installation of our heating and cooling system. They were very attentive to keeping everything clean and made sure not to dirty any carpets or floors — which I really appreciated. They also gave me a thorough walk-through of everything they installed once the job was finished. On top of all that, they were extremely polite and professional. Highly recommend!
I tried Southport because I got a coupon in the mail, and the price for a furnace inspection was excellent. Everybody that I spoke to was helpful and prompt. The technician was knowledgable and he explained everything in detail while showing me photos of each aspect of the system. I appreciated the kindness and expertise of the technician, and I will definitely call on Southport again.
So I got a flyer in the mail from Southport, apparently a company now in the Madison area. They do plumbing, among other things. I had a dripping water shut off valve that was original to my 75 year old house that needed attention. So I called them and booked an appt. On the day of the appt., I was called and asked if I could reschedule, the technician was busy helping on another job. Ok, I rescheduled, my job was not an emergency. Next day the tech came out, gave me a price to replace the water shut off valve and to clean up some existing, unnecessary piping in the closet. I thought that the quote I was given was pricey, but I just wanted it done, so I agreed to it. The tech did what I thought was a good job and before he left, I signed off. After he left, I was looking at the job again, and noticed the shut off valve handle had an old, torn, dirty rubber piece on it. I was appalled! The first picture shown in this review is the picture the tech took for the invoice. The other 2 pictures I took. You can see it is the same piece of rubber as on the handle in the picture the tech took. The rubber on the handle was so old I was able to slide it right off the handle. So I decided to call them and have them come back out and put a new handle on. After a few attempted phone calls and unanswered emails, I got ahold of someone in one of their offices to make another appointment. I explained to the girl who answered the phone what had happened. She made me an appointment for a tech to come back out and make it look "pretty" as she put it. Really? This was a $500 job. Wasn't my quote enough for a new handle on the shut off valve? Or, how do I know I even got a new shut off valve? Don't they come as one piece? So yesterday, while I was waiting for a tech to come out, Southport called me again and said that the tech that was supposed to come out was on a job that would now take him all day, and could I reschedule? Again! So now I am not only frustrated with the job done, I feel like my job and I are not important enough for them to make time to come out and make it right. I could have been the first job on the schedule and it would have taken minutes to put a new handle on. I did make another appointment for them to come out, but I am cancelling it. I just don't care to deal with this company anymore, it has been nothing but stressful.
The tech. and his trainee were great. They were very thorough and knowledgeable about everything and took pictures to show me the issues. Definitely would recommend Southport Home Services and Jackson the technician ??10/25I had Southport come out again as we needed a new heating and air conditioning unit again. The text were great knowledgeable and I can always call when there’s a problem and they’ll be right out..
