DO NOT USE MICHAEL & SONS UNLESS YOU CAN BE PRESENT. This job was at rental property. I was not present, tenants were there, I was in contact with the technician over the phone. The technician was very good about communicating to me over the phone what the problem was and what he was doing to fix it. This was a lot to take in over the phone but he assured me he would provide written documentation as well as pictures and I approved the job. But once the job was completed and my bill paid all I got was “provide and install standard tamper resistant receptacle “. No pictures, none of the instructions he allegedly gave the tenants were supplied to me. His explanation hardly justified the cost of the job
I used to have M&S as my go-to contractor for HVAC and plumbing issues but not anymore. The last couple of times I have run into everything being a giant sales pitch for their subscription service. The final straw for me is the pricing. I asked about a sink drain plug that I was installing that would not stop leaking. Tech said it would be $275 for him to just take a look plus additional costs for the installation. It just needed more plumber’s putty. I have had HVAC issues for the last year or so after an electrical surge from a lightening strike. First tech told me to change out my Nest thermostat to an Ecobee as the thermostat was exacerbating the issues. A year later, that same tech told me the Ecobee thermostat is an issue and to change my heat pump settings to well beyond anything considered industry standard. Yesterday, I was quoted $1400 and a five day waiting period for a fan unit. I called Tony Franks and, two hours and $500 later, my HVAC was back up and running. They told me the Ecobee was just fine and not to change my settings unless I wanted higher heating costs and more service visits. Unless you like setting money on fire, find a different contractor.
Blake Whitson is very knowledgeable and does outstanding plumbing service. Michael & Son Services most definitely has a outstanding employee when it comes to Blake.
A+ service! Michael & Sons made two visits to troubleshoot installation of my light fixture, which came with poor and incorrect instructions from the manufacturer. But the electrician patiently figured out the correct wire connections. Friendly, professional work.
Our hot water heater went out, and because of the great service they offered before I didn’t hesitate to make them my first call. Ian was our tech for the day and he was absolutely amazing! He had great knowledge, explained everything fully so we knew exactly what was going on. He takes pride in his work and it shows! He has a great attention to detail and in the future I will not hesitate to request Ian personally! @Ian Sencenich
