We just finished the process of having a pool installed with Island Way Pools, and where we ran into several hiccups along the way, overall, we are happy with the result and the price. The post construction service (30-days of cleaning and maintenance and transition to a salt system) was great and our tech was very helpful and friendly and knowledgeable and always made himself available to troubleshoot problems or answer questions. Pool School was a huge help, and he was great guiding us through.Now for the problems we faced through the construction process. It seems like there was a lack of communication from the sales process to the builders and project managers. We disclosed a lot of things during the sale that seems to have been overlooked when we got into the project. The biggest thing was the fact that we disclosed that we had a septic tank, provided our surveys, talked about it during the measure of the yard and again when we received the layout for the design. I brought it up no fewer than 5 times, but when they got on site to dig, it’s like this was news to them. I had to quickly have someone come out while they’re already digging to mark the septic tank location for them and then had to alter our pool plans on the fly because the original design no longer fit due to the septic location. As a very detail oriented person, I did feel like I was managing our project manager during much of the process, and was constantly asking for updates and schedules and when people would be working (as they only came to our property once a week or once every two weeks to work on the pool). Some of this may be because we are located in Lakeland where the company is Clearwater based.Overall, everything has turned out and we are happy with the end result, there was just much more micromanaging and requesting of updates than we had anticipated.We are still awaiting final inspection and the last of the pavers to be placed as we decided to expand our patio area after the project started, but we’ve been able to use the pool for a month and have enjoyed it.
We couldn’t be happier with our beautiful pool from Island Way…. from the sales and design process, to the short construction time and completion (12wks)! We were so impressed with how hard they worked to keep everything moving forward, and so surprised and grateful that it was completed just in time for an early visit from our grandkids!Everyone has been so helpful, informative, and amazingly friendly all along the way. Zach has responded quickly with all of our questions, as has our amazing project manager, Joe, who was on site every step of the way. We can’t say enough about how pleased we have been with how Joe has walked us through this construction experience… such a great guy, and sincerely focused on the customer’s satisfaction. Any concerns we have had were promptly and efficiently resolved, giving peace of mind along the way.Every one of the awesome girls in the office have been just amazing…so sweet and welcoming as soon as we walk in the door there, kept the ball rolling so smoothly and timely on our project and always willing to find answers to any of our questions.The close detail that was given to every aspect of construction was so impressive. We enjoyed watching how carefully and professionally each craftsman executed his job… especially our tile and coping guys, with their artistic eyes for detail.And finally, preparing us for the exciting “splashdown” and beyond were Jon and Ricky, our water/equipment technicians… who are just so friendly and thoughtful, and willing to offer any information and convenience to make our pool experience the best!They have been so helpful in acclimating us to pool ownership, and have created the most sparkling clear inviting oasis for us to enjoy as we move into our Pool School segment of our journey. We couldn’t have asked for more professional or nicer guys to walk us through this part of the process.There’s so much more that I could say about our experience with Island Way, but will just sum it up with a heartfelt “We Highly Recommend”!!

The project moved efficiently. The on-site manager conducted regular check-ins, ensuring everything stayed on track and addressing any concerns promptly.Another highlight was the Pool School session. It was thorough, informative, and gave us the confidence to properly operate and maintain our new pool. Islandway Pools did a great job from design to execution. Very professional sales guy worked with us on design and the hand off to the Project team was done well too! They accommodated some mid-project tweaks and closed strong with the pool service team who were there to make sure we knew how to use the pool and were friendly and knowledgeable in answering our questions. I'd recommend this pool company to others.
I just want to share how wonderful our experience with Island Way Pools has been! My wife and I were a bit anxious about building a pool, especially since we’re located in Citrus County, FL, about two hours away, and we've heard some not-so-great stories about local pool builders. So, we decided to look further south for a trusted company, and we’re so glad we found them. Zach, our salesperson, was incredibly patient with us. We actually delayed the project for almost 8 months, but Zach never once pressured us to decide. When we finally decided to go ahead in February, the team started working right away, and by the first weekend in April, we were already enjoying our new pool. I truly admire the hard work and dedication of everyone—from the paver team to the interior pool team—they were all fantastic! Brian, our project manager, was outstanding. We stayed in touch almost every day; he answered all of our questions and was frequently onsite to ensure everything was running smoothly. We had such a positive experience that our neighbor is now having an Island Way Pool built too. Thank you for making this such a wonderful journey!
