We spent over $140,000 on our pool just 2½ years ago, and unfortunately our experience with Premier Pool & Spa has been extremely disappointing.Our automatic pool cover has been a problem since day one. In fact, the very first cover they attempted to install was too large. The replacement has never fit correctly either. It has never laid flat or stayed tight across the pool. It has always bulged, bunched up, and looked like it was the wrong size, so we knew from the beginning that something wasn’t right. Despite bringing these concerns up repeatedly, we’ve continually been told that the problems are somehow our fault instead of the company taking responsibility for the installation or standing behind their work.On top of the ongoing cover issues, we’ve already had to replace the salt cell and the pool filters in just 2½ years. We also paid over $1,100 to have our pool opened in May. At no point during that service were we told the filters needed to be replaced. Based on their condition, it doesn’t even appear that the old filters were cleaned during the opening service, which makes the situation even more frustrating.It has been one issue after another. What has been the most disappointing is the lack of accountability. Every time we’ve had a problem, there seems to be another excuse. After spending this kind of money, we expected a company that would stand behind its products, workmanship, and service. Instead, we’ve felt blamed and dismissed.We referred several people to Premier Pool & Spa because we believed in supporting them. Unfortunately, after our experience, we will never recommend them again. When someone makes a $140,000 investment, they deserve quality workmanship, honest customer service, and a company that stands behind what they install. That has not been our experience.
We had an excellent experience with Premier Pools & Spas in Des Moines (Johnston)! We dealt mostly with Ben (our sales guy) and Aaron. They were extremely knowledgeable and made this experience easy from the selection process through delivery, installation, pool school and beyond. We had one issue and they took care of it immediately - better than we expected them to! After a horrible experience our first time trying to get a pool with another company - we’re so glad we had them do our pool (we only wish we found them 5 years ago)! We would highly recommend Premier Pools & Spas!
