Our weekly service and annual opening and closing are always done well. Ian is reliable and the team at a mountain Pools professional and responsible. I highly recommend them!
I have been a pool customer of Mountain Pools for 20 years. And through 3 different ownerships. By far, the "new" Mountain Pools is the most professional and an exceptional pool maintenance company. They either get it right the first time or stick with it and come back if something isn't right. Reliable and dependable. My pool is large (65 x 20) and it sparkles! Not inexpensive but definitely competitive with other pool companies. I sold my house but I will be highly recommending the new owners go with Mountain Pools. Thanks for your years of service!!!
I had heard the warnings around town about Mountain Pools, but I wanted to give a local business a chance. The joke, it turns out, was entirely on me.Let us start with the sheer mechanical ineptitude. Instead of sending professionals, they dispatch a rotating cast of peak-season temporary workers to your home. More than one of these employees openly confessed to us that they were entirely untrained and had absolutely no idea how to perform the specific tasks they were dispatched to do. It is a staggering level of irresponsibility. But incompetence is a forgivable sin; cruelty is not.My wife is currently dealing with a severe illness and navigating a rigid schedule of medical appointments. When we politely asked the office to commit to a specific meeting time so we could plan her care around their arrival, they flat-out refused to entertain a schedule. Their front desk's actual retort to my wife's health struggles? "Everyone is sick and has problems."Just a breathtaking, couldn't-care-less dismissal from a company that expects to be paid for the privilege of invading your time. Save your money, save your sanity, and look absolutely anywhere else.
I rarely write reviews like this, but this experience was bad enough that I feel obligated to warn others.Mountain Pools is, without exaggeration, one of the most unprofessional and unpleasant service companies I’ve dealt with. This starts at the top with Peter, the owner, and extends to Kim and Deserae. The tone, the attitude, the lack of accountability—it’s clearly a reflection of leadership. Most recently, they agreed to come out and change the water for $150 and said they would bring a hose. Then, out of nowhere, they called back and added another charge. That kind of casual bait-and-switch tells you everything you need to know about how they operate. But the bigger issue is how they treat people.I explained that I was dealing with serious health issues and needed some basic flexibility around timing. Instead of even a hint of empathy, I was met with “everyone is sick and has problems.” That was Deserae’s response. No effort to accommodate, no professionalism—just dismissive and frankly shocking. This isn’t new behavior either. Two summers ago, I hired them for maintenance and was sent three different people, each of whom openly admitted they had never maintained a pool before. That’s not just disorganized—it’s irresponsible. When things go wrong, there’s no accountability. Instead of calling to apologize or make it right, Peter called to say they simply couldn’t drain the jacuzzi. No solution, no ownership—just a shrug. We’ve lived in Woodstock for a long time and had heard negative things about this company, but wanted to give a local business another chance. That was clearly a mistake. This company is rude, disorganized, and completely lacking in basic professionalism or empathy. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.
I'd give zero stars if possible. I hired Mountain Pools to close my pool and was disappointed by the sloppy work. They didn’t drain or remove the pump, and left loose parts sitting in a few inches of water in the filter basket. They never capped the lines, left the drain hose attached, used rubber plugs on the jets, and wrapped the solar cover with string like a 5-year-old did it. When I raised my concerns, they brushed me off instead of owning up or offering to fix their poor work. I later learned the company has new ownership and others have had the same issues. Careless work, dismissive attitude — I’d avoid them.Just a response to your follow up as we wont be speaking:Don't send someone out this coming week.Don't assume I've been abusive to your staff. Educate yourself by reading the email thread.Don't assume you'll be opening my pool in the spring. You will not.
