I contacted Terry Howald Pools to get a quote on a new liner along with 4 other companies, their quote was the highest by far, almost 2 times as high as the lowest quote which was provided by the very reputable Pioneer Family Pools (surprisingly). This was not the issue, the issue was that they never mentioned to me that there will be a measurement, and on the follow up call they didn't say anything about charging a measurement fee , they just sent me an invoice for the measurement fee. None of the other companies charged me a measurement fee even though I didn't buy from them. The lady's attitude on the follow up call was dismissive and not pleasant. I get that no one want to work for free, but be clear from the start on the process. If you're considering working with this company, or any other as a matter of fact make sure you ask all the relevant questions, becasue they might FORGET to mention a small detail. All the best.

This company installed an inground pool for my neighbor. The man operating the mini excavator seemed drunk. He clipped and destroyed our deck and tore up our lawn. They did repair the deck but did an extremely terrible job. We now have screws sticking up in our deck. They also did not re-sod our lawn, rather just seeded it which they did not tell us they were doing, and it completely dried up.

I reached out several times over email with no response.

I am now left having to pay out of my own pocket to fix my lawn. I would not recommend dealing with this company.

EDIT - Thanks for the response 2 YEARS later. Just updated with a couple pics of the stellar job you did repairing our deck! :D Lawns all good though thanks bud ;)

Although we will enjoy our new backyard and pool, the experience with Terry Howald and the sub-contractors was terrible. Once finished, it was clear that they rush and cut corners wherever they can, making the quality of their work unacceptable for what you pay.
The owner is not interested in seeing the final product and was only around on day 1 and then once more collecting a payment. Emailing with him was beyond frustrating as pointed questions and outstanding items are not addressed, or the email is completely ignored. I truly believe that if I didn’t constantly follow up on outstanding items, some of them would never have been completed.
1. The concrete was poured on a day with questionable weather and near the end it started to mist, and the last section did not dry correctly and now looks different from the rest of the concrete. Asked the owner what could be done. He said he would check with the concrete contractor but never responded.
2. So far, I have found 3 rocks that are still under the liner because of their lack of attention to quality.
3. There are spots where the landscape fabric is showing because they did not lay enough river rock.
4. When they dismantled my old equipment, which we were keeping, my check valve disappeared. If I had not noticed they would have connected everything again without it.
5. There are wrinkles at the top of the liner, and we were told to increase the water level, which would have meant having it above the skimmer. This was only one of the numerous ridiculous responses we were given. After a while I felt like I was being spoken to like I was an idiot.
6. They drilled and placed a winter cover anchor in the wrong spot so now we have this odd-looking pattern in the anchors. As professionals, how do you not know how to install a safety cover properly?
7. They built a wooden gate at the side of the house which had to be 8 feet tall. A gate that is that tall is very heavy and has already sagged to the point where it is difficult to open and I will need to re-build it.
8. The boards on the fencing are not the same length, which is obvious to see. Another clear example of “just get it done”.
9. The posts on the custom-made gazebo are not straight. The one is at least an inch out.
I could go on, but I will finish with one last thing. I picked up dozens of cigarette butts out of the river rock, which really ticked me off. This is our home and not a construction site! I would never choose them again!

Highly recommend. My go to for all my pool needs. Everything about Terry Howalds is great - their fabulous staff, their hours, their products, their service and especially their pool knowledge. Purchased my pool from Terry Howald in 1996 and wanted to say thank you Terry Howald Pools' for the past 28 years. My pool still looks like its brand new!
