Just very pleased!I THANKFULLY found this company after I had already paid a $1000 deposit to another [well-known pool company in Springfield that I will not name here, but you know who it is]. When I discovered that said company had not even remotely educated me about the fact that there are DIFFERENT TYPES OF POOLS, I was VERY unhappy. I've never installed a pool before - I had NO idea of the differences in initial cost, upkeep, and basic construction. When I found Springfield Fiberglass Pools (SFP), I informed Other Company (OC) that they could keep the $1000 and the fancy computerized mock-up pictures because I was looking to install fiberglass. At that point, OC clued me in and said, 'Oh we do install fiberglass pools'..... GOOD TO KNOW NOW, THANKS. Also...OC had planned to install a vinyl liner pool, which incidentally has the highest long-term projection cost, AND the quote to install what should be the least expensive (up-front cost) for a ridiculously high price.SO..... I called Ric Baldoni w/ SFP; he and his son, Stefano came to my home and took their time to discuss with me exactly what I had in mind. Just talking with these two put me at ease immediately after the hurried consultation with the OC. Ric and Stefano were very honest and told me that since it was already spring (2018), they could not guarantee that my pool would be installed in time for that summer, but they could try, as they were working on previously contracted projects.I got the quote basically right away in another face-to-face meeting. They went through the paperwork with me line by line, telling me what I really needed and DID NOT need. The quote I received for a comparably-sized fiberglass pool WITH a concrete estimate was approximately $8000 LESS than the 'cheaper-to-install' vinyl liner pool with the OC. I was shocked. I wrote a deposit check immediately. AND.....they told me they would hold it for a few days, in the event that I changed my mind! SO glad I didn't!When I decided to go forward with this project, I had ZERO idea of all that is involved. Were there delays? Of course. Things break, weather happens (especially the horrid winter of 2018 that began in October and ended in May 2019). Nonetheless, there were some 30-40 degree days that Ric, Stefano, and Josh were outside my house, all bundled up, doing what they could under the circumstances.CONTRACTING PROJECTS TAKE TIME, EFFORT, AND PLANNING. During the course of this huge undertaking, I NEVER felt that SFP did not keep me informed regarding the progress of the pool construction. Ric would stop by frequently if they were waiting on something from another vendor (that happens, too, folks) to let me know why there was a wait.On June 1st, 2019, I was waiting for my guests to arrive for the inaugural swim, and Ric was still out by my beautiful new pool, putting finishing touches on the landscaping pavers surrounding it.....WHICH WASN'T EVEN HIS JOB!! My backyard beauty was finished as promised. Ric continued to keep in touch with me throughout the summer and fall just to check and see how things were going. He would stop by to make sure I was operating the pumps properly and adjusted settings for me.For those of you considering fiberglass pool installation, I cannot emphasize ENOUGH how thrilled I am that I went with SFP. They were true to the estimate (NO hidden fees or costs), and honestly, they are hardworking, friendly people that I enjoy. I shudder to think of the outcome if I had stuck with my initial choice of company.Last, but certainly not least.... please remember that QUALITY COUNTS. It also TAKES TIME. The precision of the work done on my pool was worth every minute. If something wasn't perfect, they would go back and redo it, even though it looked fine to me. The key is PATIENCE, and this applies to ALL construction/renovation projects. This was worth the money AND the wait.
We have been dealing with these guys since May. Now our pool is taken apart, our pump is missing, and we havent been able to use our pool in weeks. We keep getting the runaround from them. We've been told they ordered a part in May and its still not in? Also, we paid them July 5th and havent seen them since. Now they wont return my calls or respond to the multiple voicemails I have left. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
