First Finishers is a top notch outfit! We had them replace an existing 30 year old deck with a Trex deck. Up front, Oivind, was a gem to work with from the design phase through construction to the last finishing touch. He has a calm, pleasant and positive demeanor that was reassuring every step of the way.It was obvious that his crew of workers had been taught to pay attention to detail because the quality of the workmanship was outstanding! And I have an eagle eye for excellence. Also I had never seen a crew so considerate to each other and pleasant to have around day after day. They felt like family!Their quote was not our least expensive bid, but they were, all in all, worth the price!Highly recommend!!
We worked with First Finishers to convert our weird, gross 60s-era primary bath into a more usable, modern sanctuary. If you are looking for a solid team to do beautiful work and are willing to pay a premium for top quality and professionalism, I highly recommend First Finishers.First Finishers transformed our primary bathroom and closet into the absolute best room in the house. It is BEAUTIFUL. Their tiling team does immaculate work. Working with their suppliers - particularly the team at The Showroom Interior Solutions* - made things easy and enjoyable. Before I ever spent a dime or signed a contract, the team at Showroom spent two hours with me, using Kai's measurements of our bathroom to lay out all of the elements of a new bathroom and giving me the exact kind of design guidance I needed to end up with a functional, gorgeous space that contained everything we wanted. FOR FREE. Kai and the actual First Finishers team are professionalism personified. I have worked with several contractors now since moving down to the Olympia area and with this team, I always felt like I was in capable, trustworthy hands and that they would take good care of us from start to finish. Their tiler Matt and their granite supplier worked together to do magical things with quartz. Kai went the extra mile to find us vertical grain cedar for the ceiling, and wow, what a difference it made.Don't get me wrong - on a job of this scale and complexity in your own home, you have to be prepared to pay attention to the details and call out when things are missed or done wrong, and there was plenty of that with this project, but Kai was always extremely responsive and took care of things quickly. You got the sense he and his team and subs were actually communicating regularly, which is very much NOT what I have experienced with other contractors.One word of caution: Our final invoice was 15% higher than the bid we signed. On a job of this size, that's a LOT of money we were not planning to spend. Yes, it was a complex job, but we worked with their suppliers from start to finish, so they had specs on everything well in advance. This was highlighted to us as a major benefit of working with them, since "most contractors bid you one price and then hit you with change order after change order. This way you know exactly what you'll be paying" (paraphrased from Kai during the bid process). Well, turns out we did NOT know what we'd be paying, and there was not a single change order, despite their contract language stating there would be. Instead, almost everything on the bid was marked as an "allowance," and they used that to catch all of the overruns without giving us any heads up whatsoever. There were certainly a couple of mistakes their guys made for which they swallowed the additional cost, but for many things - demo, plumbing - they did not. They were apologetic and we ultimately chose not to push back because we felt that the value of their work was still worth what we ended up paying, even with the overruns.*I can no longer find this shop online and Google tells me their location is now a Granite Gallery. Without the design guidance and the amazing customer service of John at Interior Solutions, we would have had a very different experience, so be sure to ask after that piece of the puzzle if you reach out to these guys!
We had First Finishers do a bathroom and a number of other home projects for us. We looked at several contractors before settling on First Finishers. We definitely made the right choice. We are so happy with the work and the final product. The things that separate First Finishers from the rest is their consistent high quality work and their willingness to accommodate our every request. All aspects of the job from the drywall to the masonry were just stunning. And every craftsman went above and beyond to try to make our home just the way we wanted it. They were great and we will use them again.
I recently had my home remodeled and worked with First Finishers. Kai and his team knocked it out of the park. Everyone was professional, courteous, talented and respectful. My entire house was renovated, inside and out. Kai was so easy to work with and very attentive to juggling all the moving parts. He mapped out a timeline at the beginning of the project with very few adjustments along the way. His team executed everything with incredible detail, precision and quality. I have done remodels before & this went above and beyond all of my expectations.My kitchen, bathrooms and entire house are a dream come true.
