Recent reviews often mention responsive communication from the owner during design and after installation, especially for off-grid and battery systems. Customers highlight clear explanations of equipment choices and coordination with other contractors. Several notes praise workmanship and system performance once running. A minority of feedback reports difficulty getting follow-up on repair quotes for existing systems or non-preferred brands.

They “DO NOT ANSWER” the phone you have to text. Came out looked at system to see what was needed (1/9/2026) Waited and waited for a quote have not heard a word from them. Sent text called nothing it is now almost 2 months later. Said doesn’t like working on brand we have but would - more into installing new systems that they sell is what I got out of it, at this point do not want to hear from them. A simple we are not interested in working on your system (seek other companies) would have been way better than absolutely nothing.

Colorado Mountain Solar (CMS) recently installed a 10kw panel system with a Fortress Envy-12 inverter and a ~19 kw battery. I went with CMS because initially Steven took the time to answer all of my questions and even shared data from his previous installs using the App. Given the frantic pace of work CMS was dealing with in 2025, I really appreciated his openness and honesty.

We signed a contract late in 2025 so was a bit worried that our install would not be completed by year end to qualify for the 30% tax credit. As promised, Steven, Alex and Jason started our install the second week of December and Steven had our system collecting solar energy to off-set our consumption on December 21st, in plenty of time for the tax credit.

I should mention that shortly after Alex completed the panel install we had winds up to 50-60mph! The panels were solid which was a huge relief after hearing horror stories from some friends that had a chandelier fall and break with their loose panel install using another provider. Alex also pulled the solar panel wires through our tight attic space for a clean finish. I had talked to another local installer before going with CMS who said they would just throw the wires over the roof, saying the wires were small and would not be noticed.

Jason, the electrician, was equally methodical. I cannot comment on the details of the electrical work, but to say that the system definitely looks safe and had no issues with the inspections. Jason and his son were so personal and customized the critical load box with me. Also, they had to shut-off the house power to work one day when I was out of town. Cold weather was moving in and I could not tell remotely if the power was working for the heat. Jason had his son drive out to the house and double check. Sure enough, everything was fine! I felt bad about the unneeded house call but it shows the level of personalized service CMS provides.

At this point in 2026, we are producing about 2X more solar energy than we consume, being well above net zero. We are excited to be planning for 1-2 additional batteries sometime in 2026 for a full off-grid set-up.

We feel reassured and fortunate to be part of the CMS family for years to come.

Thank you so much CMS team!

Stephen and Kelly were great to work with. They worked with my GC to coordinate all aspects of the installation. The quality of recommended equipment and craftsmanship, appears to be high. The location of my build was challenging however through all adversity it is a complete and functional system.

The Colorado Mountain Solar team is very professional and know what they’re doing!

I tried to save some money by only replacing my batteries, but not the inverter, even though they recommended that I replace everything at the same time. Although the system worked, as they told me it would, there was an issue. I contacted Steven over the weekend and he responded very quickly, even though he was out of town, and walked me through how to fix it.

The fix required frequent monitoring and manual adjustments to keep it running smoothly, so
I decided then to replace the inverter, knowing it could take a while because they were so busy. I was very pleasantly surprised when they squeezed me into the schedule to make sure my issue was resolved quickly.

Steven, Kelly, and everyone there went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience and my system was working perfectly. They’ve even followed up to make sure it still is!!

I highly recommend Colorado Mountain Solar if you’re planning to install a solar power system.

We highly recommend CO Mountain Solar! Steven and his team Alex and Terry set us up quickly with a complete new high tech off-grid system. Our batteries had gone bad after only 2 1/2 years and were getting hot and would no longer hold a charge. We were running generators all the time. Steven fit us into his busy schedule within a week. Upon removing the old batteries, we saw they were bulging and split, and the battery box had many burn marks in it. CO Mountain Solar literally saved us from a house fire! Excellent, professional and fast service!
