The house is small. But the service was BIG.From my initial query to the follow-up after installation, I have been totally pleased with this company. Derrick promised to guide me through all the loan application documents and techy stuff , which I find uninteresting and cumbersome. And he has done this at each step of the way.Mike has overseen this project with as much care as if it were a huge installation. The crew who came to install, “The Three As”, I called them, were a delight - industrious, good natured, and efficient. Everything was left tidied up.This has been a good experience for me because of Derrick’s thoroughness, and I am confident that if I were to need more information or help, he would be prompt in responding.I would, without reservation, recommend Solar Ninjas for their excellent work, and their customer care.
What can I say about Solar Ninjas? Well lets start by saying that we got 3 quotes for our solar project. Solar Ninjas was (and they will reveal it in their sit down with you) a bit higher than the rest. So, why did we go with them and not the others? First off, their stellar reputation for being honest, upfront and their workmanship is highly praised.Our house is unique in that is 100% steel frame construction. Including the roof. With this information, the sales representative (who I will circle back to in a moment) took the time to take photos of our attic, our electrical panels, the exterior and every relevant piece of information in regards to getting us the most accurate quote they could. This was something the other two quoters did not do. They just took our electrical invoices from the past year... said this is the system they recommend... and this is the quote. Solar Ninjas did the leg work. They informed us that there could be extra costs associated beyond the quote and I understood due to our unique structure. When I asked one of the other companies about potential cost overruns they said that they would not charge us... and eat the cost if there were. To me this is a red flag. This, in my opinion, may lead to cutting corners or suboptimal work to recoup losses. We felt 100% confident in our decision to go with Solar Ninjas. Again, 100% upfront. At the end of the day, there was a bit more of a cost for anchoring our panels due to extra work in our attic... but when all was said and done... they came in UNDER the total quote. Honesty, and accountability it doesn't get better than that.The installers? Very courteous fellows. Clean and orderly. Any questions I had during the 3 day process they took the time to explain it to me. When they left, there was no sign that they were ever here... except for the shiny new panels (and main electrical panel). The workmanship was remarkable. Nothing left dangling, off kilter or signs of things being rushed. Solar Ninjas picks the best of the best for their installers and it shows.The project manager, Kyle, actually saved us quite a considerable amount of money due to his due diligence in dealing with FORTIS and being the liaison between us and FORTIS was an appreciated load off of our plate. We needed to upgrade our transformer and he took care of the majority of the back and forth for that. We were just in charge of setting up the appointment for the upgrade and paying the invoice to FORTIS. Afterwards Kyle has shown patience and understanding as we have called and texted a few questions along the way. We never felt ghosted once the project was complete. Exceptional performance and professionalism.And I will circle back to the sales representative. I would hands down recommend having Derrick come and give you a quote. He left no stone unturned during his assessment of our home. Checked the attic, took pics... checked the electrical panel, took pics... AND informed us that the particular brand of panel we had was prone to potential fires (to which I confirmed in my research afterwards)... so thanks for that! Potentially saving our home? PRICELESS. Derricks down home, polite and true honest nature made the whole first meeting a wonderful experience. He sold the company to us by his honesty and the willingness to go through all of the aspects of going solar. Not to many non-salesman salesmen out there... We look forward to his next visit after 3 months.We even had a visit by the owner, Mike, who was just as honest and considerate. I had the pleasure of having a conversation with him and there is a reason he is a leader in this industry.So, we are happily less reliant on fluctuating and increasing electrical costs. Our home is a little greener, and we feel that we have made a great investment in our property.
