I Had Solar X come out for a full solar panel install and honestly the process was way smoother than expected. They explained everything clearly and didn’t rush the job. System’s been running perfectly!
Oh boy, oh boy! Where do I start? Let’s start from TODAY shall we! It’s nearly noon on a mostly sunny Saturday and I’m sitting at home waiting for someone from Solar X to contact me regarding the installation of the 3rd inverter for my solar installation! This may be another wasted weekend. The saga begins in October, 2023, when I signed an agreement with Solar X to install their recommended system on my home. The install finally took place near the end of September, 2024, 11 months later! The system functioned as planned. Spring, 2025, a burnt wire was discovered on the inverter so a new inverter was installed. The new inverter failed and allowed less than 50% production from the system! I lost nearly ALL of the 2025 summer solar production despite numerous attempts to get Solar X to address the issue! It was finally agreed that the new inverter was the issue. Duh! I now have a 3rd inverter sitting in my garage since November 11, awaiting installation! Overall production from September, 2024 until November, 2025 has been maybe 40% of original estimate! I have lost 2 summers of Solar production due to delays, malfunction and lack of service. Conservatively, I am out about $2000 in lost credits from my grid connected system, winter is approaching. Am I happy! No, but I’m also not sleepy, or dopey and this isn’t a Cinderella story. I have thousands of dollars tied up in a system either underperforming or nonfunctional! If you are considering Solar X, maybe, just maybe you should check around a bit more. I wish I’d made a different decision. It’s been astronomically frustrating, frustrating, frustrating. I won’t say anything else.
We were referred to Solar X by a friend who had their system installed a while back, and we’re really glad we followed their recommendation. From the first call to the final install, the team was professional, clear, and easy to work with.We did notice some older reviews that gave us a bit of hesitation, but when we brought it up, Ibrahim was honest and explained that most of those were from during COVID and some internal changes. That transparency really reassured us.Everything went smoothly — the crew was great, respectful of our property, and got the job done efficiently. The system’s up and running now, and it feels great knowing we’re already seeing the impact on our bills.Definitely a solid experience, and we’d happily recommend them too.
