I wish we had gone with another company. A close relative had a good experience with Knipp so we thought we would too. Boy, were we mistaken. Knipp did the bare minimum: they replaced the shingles on our roof, the siding, and our gutters - but that is where the positives end.

Communication was terrible. Their project coordinator never called to let us know when the crew was coming; they simply showed up unannounced and parked their trailer in our front lawn. In doing so, they severely damaged our mature Japanese maple by driving and parking partway into our landscaping.

They left debris, nails, and garbage scattered across the property for weeks. The crew often arrived without notice in rusty, unmarked pickup trucks. No one wore a uniform or identified themselves as being with Knipp, we had to ask who they were while they climbed all over our roof.

They crushed our downspouts and left us without gutters for weeks. At night, they chained a large piece of mechanical equipment to our wooden fence, without asking for permission to do so. While installing the siding, they removed a fence slat and lost it, and they broke our back gate going in and out of the yard. If they had just communicated with us, we would have told them where to keep their equipment on the property, and which gate was better for entry.

The job was not completed on time. It ran more than a month past the deadline, and even then, it’s hard to call it finished. They left the soffit on one side of the house exposed, allowing the elements to damage the wood underneath.

When we reported the issues to the office, we never received a heart-felt apology. The project manager told us we had to provide photographic proof of the damage and get estimates. We did that and he turned around and said they did none of the damage we presented to them. So, we asked them to provide proof that they did not cause the damage, they could not prove that either. They finally agreed to take some money off the final amount, but it hardly covered the actual damage they caused or the way they mistreated us.

Overall, it was a horrible experience and one we will never repeat. If I could give them zero stars in this review, I would. The only silver lining is we have learned to be better consumers and thoroughly vet any prospective contractors from now on.

Knipp did an awesome job. Roof needed a lot of emergency patching due to racoon damage, they came out next day to waterproof it ahead of a storm. Replaced the house and garage roofs in a day. Excellent work and clean up at a great price. Would definitely use again and recommend.

Scheduled an appointment with them. They did not show and did not call to cancel. I wasted my time going to the property when I could have been working.

I showed up for our meeting even though it snowed. They didn't bother to even call to let me know they decided not to work that day.

We set up a meeting for a quote. We waited for over an hour, with our 3 year old, and they never showed or called/texted to cancel. Try another company--they are unreliable and rude.

I can not say enough about this company and the kindness of Jon , Most roofing companies act as rivals to each other i was so happy to meet someone like myself . I was doing a repair at Scott AFB and this man was my savior on parts and the knowledge he has is amazing very good people and was even kind enough to loan me his tools .
