Update: Management reached out and corrected the situation. We are happily awaiting our new door. Will update further once complete. It has been 7 weeks, four salesmen, and I cannot get an accurate quote for a new door for our home. We have been to the showroom twice to meet with sales and it starts great but then no follow through. I am shocked it is this difficult to spend thousands of dollars with a company. We will be taking our business elsewhere. What a shame, sales department is ruining an opportunity to work with this company.
Our experience with Wilke Window & doors has been anything but professional. Early last year we ordered 2 panel entry doors for our home and waited 6 months for them. When the contractor arrived on a Sunday to install them they were 6 panel doors not the 2 panel doors I had originally ordered & he couldn’t even complete installation on them because the screws were stripped! So he left that day with a 2x4 nailed across the inside of the doors because they were useless! I brought that to their attention they told me that the 2 panel doors would not fit & that someone should have notified me about that. Unfortunately the person that was supposed to notify me no longer worked for the company. It took us another 6 weeks to get another set of doors and after they installed the doors they didn’t complete the outside where my screen doors once stood leaving nail holes exposed. They compensated us for the entry door screw up and told me to keep 200.00 & hire my own professional to complete the job! I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone! There has been a complaint filed with the BBB with photos and also with the Attorney General’s office.
I recently had a window repaired by Wilke Window and Door of Shiloh, ILI have no complaint on the quality of the service, however their pricing on labor is extremely outrageously high and very overpriced.Wilke charges $145, to give an estimate. Which consisted of a technician measuring the broken window and taking pictures. The total time spent at this service call was 15 minutes. This has to be pre-paid or they will not come out. They then give you an estimate for materials and service, and 1/2 of that needs to be paid in advance before they will order the materials and schedule a repair. The window replacement took a total of 1 hour, which consisted of removing the lower broken double hung window, and replacing it with a new one. Labor on this 1 hour was $243So total labor for 1 broken window, total time spent, including two service calls was 1 Hour and 15 minutes.Total labor was $398I tried to talk to the service manager about this, and he said basically that, it is what it is.I hope to never have to use them again.
Updated. John, the service manager, called and apologized for my experience. I can tell from other reviews this was a one off and not the norm for their business. Due to the delays in getting a call back, I will now not be scheduling the repairs until spring. Once completed I will update this review again! I called in September and spoke with Tyler about needed window handle repairs. He requested product numbers off the windows which I provided then he went MIA. I had to call and talk to the receptionist twice who made him call me. He has an attitude when he called and lied saying he turned it over to the service dept and “forgot “ to tell me. I emailed him after and he never responded. I called and left service dept a message and it’s been over a month and nobody has ever called back. Clearly this company doesn’t want any business. Super disappointing.
I've purchased two exterior doors from this Wilke and had been satisfied with the products and installations. So, I reached out to them again when I needed to purchase five new windows. It took them several days to return my phone call. I ended up purchasing my windows elsewhere due to their failure to return my phone call in a timely manner. Their products are good, but the person in charge of returning phone calls and scheduling should be fired.
