Where to begin with how bad our experience was with Flooring America of West Knoxville. If I didn't have to leave 1 star, I wouldn't. What was quoted as a 3 day job, turned into about a 2 month nightmare. It was a disaster from putting down a deposit onward. And we are not talking a small amount of money here, we re-did basically an entire large home of flooring. It began with "oh well we will need 4 days", to on the 4th day there not being enough flooring for 2 LARGE rooms and a large walk in closet. So then waiting for the flooring to arrive. They measured our home prior so we didn't understand how there could be that big of a discrepancy. Flooring was installed wrong around our fire place from how we were told it would be installed and then when it was fixed, it looked like a beaver had chewed the wood, nothing was cut right, worst flooring installation I have ever seen by "professionals". They finally fixed that and we wondered as to why it couldn't have been done correctly the first time and why it needed 3 tries. Then when the wood was installed our second floor, the staples were placed directly on top in the middle of the boards. Looked like a shot gun was fired....80 visible holes in the floor in just 1 room. All the while we are not able to fully unpack after just moving here. We got smart ass comments from the sales person, the GM had to get involved. We were told by the 4th and final time that the flooring upstairs was fixed that "even if we have to get a professional cleaning company to clean up, it will be cleaned." Nope, everything covered in saw dust that I didn't think to pack up. End tables, lamp shades, flooring, workout equipment. If that promise to make sure things were clean was kept, I may not have written this review, although it was still a horrible process. Even the carpet we had installed was done very poorly, some places were fixed, but when I brought up that the pattern wasn't straight I was just told it was fine, even though I can tell when a straight line is crooked and it was my money that paid for it. Go somewhere else. Don't go with Flooring America. We regret it all. We had just moved here, bought a house we were excited to see transformed and it was a horrible experience.
A fine company with outstanding service. Joe, a man with experience, knowledge and the spry of a man decades younger helped my wife and I select vinal luxury tile to replace flooring in a sunroom. Two days later I came to purchase it and he wouldn't seal the deal until he rechecked the math on the previous measurements. Once purchased, store personnel loaded my vehicle and I was on my merry way. We had already hired an installer who did a perfect job with plenty left over. When we showed Joe our first measurements, he told us we were wanting way too much and saved us a lot of time and money. I will return to this place for our future projects and utilize the experienced installers on staff.
We are incredibly pleased with this company, particularly their products, service, and pricing. Dale offered expert opinions and advice regarding the flooring selection, presenting various options that perfectly complemented our furniture and décor. The work was scheduled within days, and Lenin and his team executed an outstanding job in the shortest time possible—all at a very reasonable price. We couldn't have asked for a better company! Thank you all for making this stressful project such a positive experience!
Joe is the best!! He has helped me for years. I won't see anyone else. He is so kind and very knowledgeable about his job. I am sure he treats everyone like he does me but, it makes me feel very cared for when buying from him. thanks so much Joe!
Watch their pricing. We bought flooring but forgot to bring a coupon THEY put in a coupon book. When we called them they claimed that flooring was on sale and that they could “re-price to original cost” then honor the coupon but would be more than posted price?? Nothing on their display claimed it to be so and sales invoice only reflected price listed. What they told when we were there is “green tags” were in stock. Floor is decent but sales tactics, SHADY.
