Mark worked with me and my wife to create plans for our dream home. He was always responsive and professional. He had some great ideas that we ended up using in our plans that he drew up for us. Mark met with us in person and we also used GoTo meetings to get the plans just right. He even got on a GoTo meeting at 11:00PM because he knew we had kids and that was the best time to discuss the changes. Can say enough good things about Mark and Golden Homes.
Nice
We built our home with Golden Homes Inc in Bryan/College Station, TX. It could not have been a better experience. Mark and Eric were so easy to work with. How?1.They took time to tweak our design. They brought to light a few ways to make our home better. They made some crucial suggestions during the process, but by no means steam-rolled us into their opinions. In fact, when we countered with the goal behind some of our design plans they saw our vision and helped us tweak things if still needed.2. They were great at keeping the sub-contractors accountable and we genuinely liked most of the subs they chose to work on our house. When the communication with the subs didn't create an acceptable end product, they reexplained the way it needed to look/function (I'm thinking a lot about our trim here), then the work was redone/tweaked.3. Here's a good example of how fair Mark was...he could've charged me market value for the lot we bought, but he only charged me what it cost him to buy, plus the taxes he paid on it. Also, there were so many minor tweaks we made and he did not haggle me nor gouge me about a bunch of ridiculous change orders when work had not been completed or started with that particular sub. Though I did pay more when it was obviously outside of budget or my lack of communication was causal (this didn't happen much b/c of how good the communications were between us). The bottom line regarding money is that they are honest. Also, he finished the punch list!4. I could say so much more, but the last thing I'll mention is that he was a great advocate with not only our subs, but also with the HOA. Since the house has been completed he's helped us think through future plans for the property (built-ins, landscaping ideas, etc.) as our budget will allow. He's come by several times to check on us.We went into the custom building process knowing that no house will be perfect (a perfectionist will never be content), but we wanted to get the big things right. Golden Homes far exceeded that expectation. They spent time on us. They clearly cared about us and our home. We count them as our friends. The Georges
