With growing up with a father that built high end custom homes it was hard choosing a different builder to build for my family.All in all we had a good experience so far. We are 3 months in our home. We worked with Joe in the Greenville office. If Joe didn’t have an answer he worked to get one.We drove him crazy but he handled things very professional and in a timely manner.My father gave him a time only to make sure our home was built correctly and not thrown together.Hunter was our contractor. Can’t say enough on how well Hunter did with our home. He also had great fallow through with subcontractors, he stayed on top of things along with communicating on concerns. We couldn’t have asked for a better team!!Our house is settling and a few problems here and there. We are about to do our 90 day evaluation but so far anything that’s needed corrected has been corrected.The only complaint I have is recommending better painters. We paid to have wood steps rather than carpet and the stain on the steps arent even completed. No clear coat was put over it. Just stain and when the brush ran out they didn’t attempt to fix the brush marks.Stain was left on the walls where they painted the hand rail. The painting was sloppy pretty much every where. Hunter did make them come in several times to fix but they couldn’t seem to get it right.Also I do not recommend the farm sink “extra cost” if you have a lot of kids or a husband that has a job where he comes in daily very dirty. It scratches easy and then grease/dirt settles into the scratches. I’ve tried everything to get it clean.I give Joe and Hunter both two ????.
From the moment I met with my salesman, Ross, to the day my final warranty work was completed by Donny and his crews, I've had nothing but positive experiences with Build on your land LLC. Ross made sure I understood the entire build process before we even started and helped me choose the right floor plan and interior finishes. The superintendent Robert made sure the build process went smoothly and was quick to handle any concerns I had right away. The assistant superintendent, Gary was frequently on site monitoring the progress and doing lots of small touchup work as construction wrapped up. All of the sub-contractors I met were very nice and made sure to do their work well. When it came time for the 1 year warranty work, I only had a few minor repairs to do, and they were handled quickly and with great care as well. Overall I am very pleased with my entire experience with Build on your land LLC and would recommend their services to anyone looking for a cost friendly starter home or a beautiful and well crafted forever home!
After searching for the right Builder for about five years, my husband and I finally found Build on Your Land. This was such an amazing experience. The Columbia South Carolina team was amazing to work with. Ross our sales guy was top notch! The prices are reasonable and the quality is amazing. We had the best experience building our forever home. As a homeowner and a realtor I would recommended Build on Your Land over and over.
UPDATED EDITED: I have had numerous homes custom built in my life. Some were great experiences, some were mediocre. If I were to build another home, I would choose these guys. Every morning on my dog walk for the last 60 days I have watched them building a home from land clearing to dried in with shingles. At the same time across the road, I saw another builder who started land clearing at the same time who still has not even finished the foundation work. But the build on your own land people have consistently had crews working efficiently on the project and have gone amazingly fast with high-quality work. I have observed every aspect of their construction from digging footings, pouring slabs, framing, trusses, cladding, roofing windows, etc. I have never seen a builder work as efficiently and aLos importantly maintain such a clean building site. To me the building site at the end of the day is a reflection on the contractor and their site is amazing There is never anything out of place on site at the end of the day, they maintain a pristine buttoned down site. It is an enjoyable experience to watch these guys build, and to know that the homeowner will have a high-quality work product when they’re done.Update several months later: this project has continued to impress me in every phase, and it now appears to be almost ready for the new owner to move in. It’s a beautiful home and it’s clearly well built. I have no affiliation with this Builder or anyone, I just enjoy seeing quality work and giving it a good rating.
