The office in Longs Heating and Air Lexington put the system in our new home for Hurricane Builders and in less than two years the system was damaged with pin hole in part of the coil. Longs chose to solder the pin hole instead of replacing the coil. That was in September 2025, now in April it was solder incorrectly. We are out 1400.00 to correct a problem that should have been solved in September by replacing the coil. Great job.I contacted warranty department for Hurricane Builders and she gave no sympathy just stated it’s out of warranty. I thought there was a two year warranty. She proceeded to explain in September 2025 it was out of warranty for builder but they graciously offered to fix our problem. This is new construction and I expected more quality construction. Very disappointed.
Less than zero consideration for people living in an area. Work at 8 AM? Ha good luck when they block your one lane one outlet road with a tractor trailer at 7:55 and refuse to move it. Want to sleep in on a saturday? Sorry they got boys out there with power tools at 7 am that day. Hurricane builders is a great name on several levels though. They work really fast, and you can tell watching the construction that you'll be putting in a claim with the first big storm that blows throughEdit: This company should be shut down immediately. They do not deserve to be in business. They'll bring in contractors that leave concrete in YOUR driveway and the roadway both (amazing when they're working exclusively on the other side of the street), leave nails in the roadway, block the road at all hours, have a crew working with power tools until midnight, and will outright refuse to contact you when you call them for reimbursement when you run into the aforementioned concrete they leave in the middle of the road/your driveway. Not to mention that I could tear down any one of the houses they've built in an afternoon by myself they're so shoddy. Sorry company run by sorry people, please buy your house from literally anybody else.
This experience has been a nightmare!First, I wanted a bathroom added upstairs and they drew up a plan and all was good. Then, due to poor communication within the company, the wrong trusses were order and they had 3 opportunities to check and make sure before starting to build the house. They realized it when they went to install the shower. They then came back and said they couldn’t do it. I’m pretty sure, they could with the help of an engineer to redesign the roof load, but they didn’t want to pay for that. Okay, I forgave them.Second, then I move in and my upgraded sink has multiple large scratches. Their superintendent said it looked like the painter cleaned their brushes in the sink. I have sent pictures and he told me h did too. No response. Then one day warranty rep was in the neighborhood and I grabbed him to look at it, again, no response from company. I feel the sink needs to be replaced.Third, a few roof shingles have come off and no response to request to have roofing company come out and repair.Fourth, I purchased a fence with the home and it’s falling backwards and the gate has sunk 2” in 3 months and I’m not able to open the gate. Fence company said it has to go through warranty.Fifth, I paid to have 2 electrical boxes over my island and to be capped off so I could purchase lights other than what the builder was offering. Went to hang those today and guess what…one box has no wire in it.I’m am way beyond frustrated with this company because I just keep getting the run around and not a darn thing is being done to fix my issues. I have not even mentioned all the other smaller issues. It appears, this company hires shoddy piece workers and not reliable sub contractors and do not care about their customers after the deal is done.01/10/23- **Update** Hurricane has come out and fixed a few issues, which makes me happy again. They other issues are in progress with the subs and when it’s all done and over, will update this review again.A shout out to Glenda & Will for repairing not just the house issues, but changing my opinion of Hurricane and they should be glad to have them as employees.
I have built/bought three Daniel house plans with this builder, with Andy Shelton being my preferred agent and construction supervisor Avery Smith this was a great experience. Everything was so organized and completed on time. The staff at Hurricane Builders made things very simple to understand and have been very responsive. I have sold one home and seen a large return. The other two are rentals with the locations this builder has to choose from you won't lose and the value is unbeatable!
Horrible company. They ripped up our driveway to put in a sewage line for the house next door they were building. They didn't bother to inform us. We found out after we got home that they destroyed our front lawn and driveway. It's been a week and they haven't bothered to fix our property.
