My husband and I couldn’t be happier with our decision to choose Battlefield Homes to build our retirement home at Lake Anna. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional.

We first connected with Allen Harrison virtually in November 2023, sharing our vision for a waterfront home where we hoped to retire in June 2025. After previously searching online for months for the perfect floor plan, we sent Allen our favorite—and he quickly returned with thoughtful, customized plans for our review. Throughout the planning phase, Allen was incredibly accommodating and consistently offered insightful suggestions that improved our design.

Before signing a contract, we spoke with several references provided by Battlefield, many of whom graciously invited us into their homes. These visits gave us valuable inspiration and confidence in our choice.

Once under contract, Clara F. guided us through the many design decisions with patience and expertise, making a potentially overwhelming process feel manageable and even enjoyable. We also had the pleasure of working with Wallace W., Sam A., Mike B., Steve B., and Sam R.—each of whom brought their own expertise and made us feel like we were their top priority. Their communication, responsiveness, and professionalism were truly unmatched.

While I don’t anticipate building another custom home, I will wholeheartedly recommend Battlefield Homes to anyone considering it. They made our dream retirement home a reality—and we’re so grateful.

Battlefield Homes built my custom home at Lake Anna and was incredible all around. Their entire staff was friendly, responsive, and communicated well throughout the process. They delivered on all of our selections and solved for a lot of unique features wonderfully, including incredible wood accents, decks, a custom bar, and outdoor features. Our experience with Battlefield Homes was excellent. Our expectations were met and exceeded at every step of the way. From the early design and planning stages to delivery of the final product we felt as if we were a valued and appreciated customer. Allen even took the time to come and walk the property we were thinking of purchasing in order to confirm that it was a suitable building site. This was before we even decided to work with Battlefield Homes building our new home. We never felt pressured or stressed about the many details, selections and decisions to make. Allen asked for a list early on of every option, feature and upgrade we were considering in order to prioritize the list and then worked within our budget to get us everything we wanted. They listened to what we wanted and then worked to make it happen. Everyone was extremely professional and courteous, every meeting was pleasant, enjoyable and productive. Every question answered, every concern addressed and every potential problem or issue was addressed.

Things were pointed out that never occurred to us and many options presented when a decision needed to be made. Complete and total transparency during the entire build process helped eliminate any concerns we might have had. We relied on their experience and expertise and were never disappointed. From the very beginning we believed we were in good hands and everyone proved us right. Allen, Melissa, Bernadette, Mike, Mark, Bernie and Sam were a joy to work with. At no time did we feel rushed or that they were too busy to take the time to talk with us. If something needed to change due to lack of availability, long lead time or a product being discontinued, all the work in finding a suitable and comparable replacement had already been done. All we had to do was select from what was now available and that made the process much easier on us.

The jobsite was kept neat and organized and very clean during the entire build. The long term relationships with the subcontractors was a deciding factor in our decision to go with Battlefield Homes. The quality of workmanship and the level of craftsmanship was superior. The timing between all the trades was superb. No conflicts or problems, when one job was completed the next would start as scheduled.

It was a joy to watch the progress being made as our dreams became a reality. This is to be our retirement home and we look forward to many long years ahead of us in a beautiful and extremely well built home that is everything we could have hoped for and more. We would not hesitate to start all over again with Battlefield Homes and have no doubt that they are far and above any other builder in the area. The end result speaks for itself, every member of the team and each subcontractor did the work as if it were their own home they were building. It truly was a partnership, thank you Allen and the entire team for a for a wonderful experience and a job well done!

We cannot say enough good things about Battlefield Homes, Inc. We fondly called them our “Dream Team” and they were, every step of the way. Let me start by saying that my husband is a mechanical engineer that ALWAYS over-engineers what he is designing or working on. When he observed Battlefield’s model home, he was so impressed by its superior craftsmanship that he was sold! But it doesn’t stop there. On top of that, this Dream Team has integrity, professionalism and is creative, honest, courteous, friendly, patient, helpful and truly a pleasure to work with. Sounds too good to be true but it is and that is why Allen, Bernie, Sam, Melissa, Wallace, Mike and Steve all earned our title, Dream Team. We always felt “at home” with Battlefield even before our home was built.

At the beginning of our design process, we lived in California. Allen always worked around our schedule with phone calls and emailing design ideas back and forth focusing on every detail that was important to us and making sure to make it so. We were always treated as though we were their most important client. They treated our house with care, as though it was their own. At every step, they were careful to make sure that all of our ideas got considered and helped us to decide on the best solutions to achieve our vision. They were always so helpful in guiding us with their knowledge and years of experience when we had multiple options to consider. Allen and his entire team, were always available when we had any questions, concerns and/or changes. During our selection stage, we were so comforted to hear the amount of respect that their suppliers/subcontractors have for them and how much they enjoy working with Battlefield. This says a lot!

We always felt a part of the build process and were always welcome on the site to see the progress being made. We were always kept up-to-date with the latest progress and with each upcoming phase. Any issue that came up during the build process was always handled with our interests first and to our satisfaction. Working with Battlefield’s site supervisors was also a great experience. Wallace, Mike and Steve took such pride in making sure each detail was perfect. Despite being one of Virginia’s wettest years on record, Battlefield worked extremely hard, without compromising on quality, so that we could celebrate and enjoy Thanksgiving in our new Dream Home. As a final result, our Dream Home shows Battlefield Homes’ level of commitment to excellence.
